I love everything about this.Although i am sad to see her die that way with out those two talking it out before leaving for a mission like that.
Really really good read ovErall. Good translation, Even though character dEvelopment is fast. still very interesting. Story so far is good.
Standard IET stuff. Honestly all his books are the same and reading one means you read them all. I see no difference between Ji Ning, Qin Yu, Xu Jingming, etc are all literally the same character. But thats fine, people who are reading IET for the first time will get something that isnt straight garbage but I have a big problem with this particular novel.I can *feel* the nationalism when I read this. IET wasnt making it subtle whatsoever here. China #1 can be felt throughout my first 100 or so chapters, lemme explain. So the entire world is given VR technology and when they go online they can practice martial arts. After a while a ranking ranking is made with the strongest at the top and guess which nationality 2 of the top 3 are? Thats right folks, its granddaddy China with the other from Botswana. It just seems like China is naturally more talented than every other country by a wide margin. Lets not even get into the comments from the live streaming in VR, its constantly about oh man, these expert martial artists from [other country] are strong, but China is still better.I think the funniest example is in chapter 148 when the strongest from Korea is made out to be an arrogant mf who is going around challenging the top 3 just to get more views on his live stream. I feel like IET's recent novels have lost the magic from Desolate Era, Swallowed Star, COILING DRAGON, Stellar Transformation, etcand part of that is the nationalism here, while in the other recent novels its been a lot more logical. In his earlier works the MC got super lucky at the start and then had to muddle through the entire universe just to be the best and in recent time the MCs dont get lucky, they were just naturally talented and got some benefits here and there that make sense. My problem is that making sense doesnt carry the same *brilliance* of a moment like in Desolate Era where Ji Ning gets the inheritance and starts his journey or when Lou Feng died fighting the Gold Dragon.
I am not just giving 5 stars for the sake of it....This book has good grammar and we get 2 chapters daily, story is awesome and doesn’t have obvious plot holes.....author is doing a great job in character building and the MC’s character looks real......Now, this novel is not the same as other cliche cultivation or game novels....Many game novels are like-1) I have to be the number one in the game and destroy the guild that destroyed me before...2) WHAT I GOT A SUPER-HIDDEN,SUPER-POWERFUL,SUPER-adjective CLASS IN THE NEWBIE VILLAGE!!!!3)Oh I got the all powerful, omega leveled, invincible tier item by killing slightly powerful monster4)Now lets build a guild, let’s get a shop before anyone else, lets upgrade the guild before anyone else etc5)Now lets annoy some other guild and make a enemy...However this one is very different then others as MC interacts more with NPC’s than players. He gets a powerful item’jade’ but it can’t be used at all until higher stages...He has powerful weapons but cannot use weapons higher grade than his cultivation and gets a weapon that grows with him....he doesn’t have the intention of becoming number one, build a guild to make money or other reasons....he doesn’t try to escalate small matters and is respectful to other people while standing his ground....this feels like he is transported to another world rather than playing a game.....Many cultivation novels are like-1)I need to destroy this clan in the town because they will surely try to destroy my clan....WHAT my clan is the attacker? no way, I always have higher moral ground....2)Why is this little girl in front of the carriage? Let’s cripple the one inside the carriage instead of the horseman and do not scold the mother who somehow teleports after I crippled the young master for not looking after the kid.....3)WHAT The young master’s father is clan leader and this clan has the backing of all powerful sect so I have to kill everyone....does anyone in the clan or sect have the intelligence to deal with this mess without making a bloodbath...4)WHAT my lover has a fiance and is taken away by her clan..now I have to grow stronger to destroy the fiance’s clan but forgive the lover’s clan but I will not get the idea of peacefully breaking engagement .....Here in this novel the guards of the young masters know who to offend and not ot offend...things don’t escalate to the point of clan annihilation .....MC doesn’t have very powerful enemies who force him to become the strongest....MC does other things than just fighting or cultivating which lets the author build a more realistic world wher ethere are not only muscle head but also intelligent people with common sense
