I have no regrets about reading this novel through machine translation at all. Among all the female lead (FL) transmigration novels I've read, this one stands out as the most enjoyable and unique. While there are some flaws, such as what I feel was an abrupt ending that left much to be desired, I would never regret reading it. I love the main character and the various worlds within the novel so much. For anyone looking for a great FL novel, I highly recommend giving this one a chance—you won't regret it!
The premise sounds amusing, but honestly, the comedy aspect is what turned me off. This story follows a conventional path by casting its female lead as comedic relief. A dumb goddess who makes poor judgments, is useless, and deserves to be hit by the hero—this portrayal makes me quite upset. Not because of how dim-witted she is, but because of how unfairly she is treated, especially by the hero.
However, the story improves significantly when it takes itself seriously. I believe the author made a wise choice in having Ristarte (the goddess) narrate instead of Seiya (the hero). Seiya is an intriguing protagonist, but he wouldn’t make an engaging storyteller due to his efficiency, level-headedness, and thorough preparation.
Through Ristarte’s narration, we get a clearer picture of how unusual Seiya is by normal standards. Additionally, the story manages to convey the emotional depth that might be lost if told from Seiya’s perspective.
I am particularly impressed by how well-written Ristarte’s inner turmoil is. Every time she cries, I find myself tearing up as well. I hope Seiya will treat her better. Other characters often mention his special concern for her, and sometimes his harsh words and actions can be interpreted differently. However, these scenes are still less appealing to me.
, I see potential for development and truly hope it unfolds in the future. For now, I rate this 3.7/5.
I'm currently re-reading it, and it's always a delightful experience. Although I didn't finish it, I did get to the final storyline. I won't spoil it here, though (laughs). I can understand why some might feel uneasy about the portrayal of Chinese nationalism, but it's not overly excessive. It's natural for someone to take pride in their homeland, especially when the story starts with the protagonist feeling like China was unfairly taken advantage of.
The main character's perspective is biased, which I can empathize with – he's a ruthless figure who initially had no belief or emotions. His life changed when he met the love interest (ML) in the First World, and the ML became his saving grace. To truly grasp the depth of their bond, you'd need to read the story.
In the narrative, the once cruel world he didn't care about has transformed into something he wants to protect, because it holds meaning for his beloved partner. They are incredibly adorable together. Despite his aloofness and coldness towards enemies, he fiercely defends those he cares about – mostly the ML – and there aren't many instances of family manipulation in these arcs. In fact, I only recall one instance where it came up.
Overall, I highly recommend this book.
Initially, I believed it would be a lighthearted joke narrative, but the actual plot turned out to be more engaging than anticipated. The intricate planning, subplots that foil the main game storyline, and the various dynamics that unfold offstage all captivate my interest. I'm eagerly anticipating how the story will unfold in the coming chapters.
