I thought this book completed already coz a year ago it's still ongoing and stop reading .
'That's what love is, you fool.' — I keep coming back to this line because it's the exact pivot point where the entire emotional architecture of these chapters shifts. Before it, you have this long, almost comedic sequence where Shen Tingjun is trying to plan a wedding and Jiang Wanwan is deliberately sidestepping the conversation. The pacing here is deliberately slow, almost frustrating, which mirrors how Jiang Wanwan herself feels about the whole situation. She's not in a rush. The reader feels that slowness too, and that's intentional. Then BOOM — the confession scene hits, and suddenly everything accelerates. Shen Tingjun pulls her into an alley, traps her against a wall, demands honesty. The physical space shrinks from a crowded courtyard to a narrow side street to a bedroom to a standoff on the floor. Each scene gets tighter, more confined, more intense. By the time Director Shen bursts in with that belt, the pacing has reached its peak velocity. It's almost breathless. But here's what I found most interesting structurally: the author inserts these tiny comedic breather moments right when things get too serious. Like, Jiang Wanwan is having this profound emotional conversation about love, and then she immediately pivots to asking about Sun Laosan and Sun Lao'er. Or she's supposed to be flustered in Shen Tingjun's bedroom and instead spends the entire afternoon reading comic books. These aren't just jokes for laughs — they're structural pressure valves. The author knows when to let the reader exhale so the next inhale hits harder. The chapter titles themselves are doing work too. 'The Wedding' sets up an expectation of celebration, 'Allergic to Romance' subverts it with comedy, and 'A Misunderstanding' delivers the chaotic payoff. Three chapters, three different tonal registers, and they flow into each other like waves.
This was a light read because the story had no ups and downs for me. There is zero tension since we know the main character will face absolutely no problems at all (and I’m saying this as someone who has read *The Reincarnated Assassin Is a Genius Swordmaster*).
I don't necessarily厌恶这个故事，但也不能说有多喜欢。我勉强读到一半，但有时候情节非常不合逻辑，而且老套得让人厌倦。主角刚开始还行，但渐渐变得令人不悦。她的人物塑造并不真实，一个一生几乎足不出户的富家小姐，却能游刃有余地处理商业事务、烹饪出色（这在现实中怎么可能？）。而且，对女性的刻板偏见让我很不舒服，每章都有至少一两个贬低女性的言论。
更糟糕的是，书中的所有问题似乎都是因为某个女人——姐妹、姻亲、阿姨等等。我知道作者想让她显得强大独特，但她的态度常常给人自以为是、傲慢的印象。她似乎忘了她的知识并非源于某种天赋，而是时代背景赋予的，而其他人也同样是他们所处时代的产物。总的来说，这本书比不上它的前作，只能说是一般般。

Alright, I'd classify this as a typical cliche novel, with less emphasis on romance and straightforward conflicts compared to others. The main character (MC) is portrayed as a brilliant medical student, but that's pretty much it. Her personality remains one-dimensional, lacking any distinct traits beyond the generic archetype.
The narrative structure has three main patterns: the MC saves someone's life through her medical expertise, engages in random encounters with the male lead (ML), and deals with others who doubt her abilities, eventually witnessing her remarkable medical feats. The focus on romance isn't overwhelming, which is a positive aspect, but the repetitive nature of these storylines makes it feel stagnant without clear direction.
My initial anticipation was for a story about a relatable female character overcoming obstacles, dedicating herself to medicine, and ultimately achieving success, proving her detractors wrong and finding happiness with an amazing partner. However, the story instead revolves around the MC's constant display of her medical prowess, with little to no personal growth or medical challenges. The conflicts mainly revolve around interpersonal relationships rather than the actual practice of medicine, which is disappointing.
I must admit that the story description led me to believe in a different kind of narrative, focusing more on the protagonist's journey of learning and growth. As it stands, the story feels like a missed opportunity to explore the depths of a character's medical journey, leaving me somewhat let down.
"It's understandable, though I feel it could have been more理智 and heartwarming. The main character demonstrates excellent self-reliance without relying on the love interest, though his reasoning about needing a bath to stay might not have been entirely logical since he could easily return to Earth for personal hygiene. Perhaps it was a tipping point for him to stay permanently, but the explanation could have been expanded. The emotional depth could have been polished further, but considering its brevity, I'd give it a solid 4-star rating. The story did pique my interest for more."
