This book is keeping me on the edge of my seat. Can’t put it down.
Let me just say this: the pacing in this section is absolutely relentless and I am here for it. Chapter 34 starts almost casually—Wen Xi is doing business, trading quilts for gold, collecting orders. It feels almost normal, almost comfortable. And that's the trap, isn't it? The author lulls you into this false sense of security while the apocalypse ticks away in the background. Then BOOM. Chapter 13 hits like a freight train. Two intruders kick down her door and she's killing them before you can blink. The transition from "receive orders, ship goods" to "blood sprayed from the back of the man's neck" is jarring in the best way possible. And the chapter endings! The author knows exactly how to hook you. Wen Xi discovers the Survivor Huddling Group plotting against her, sends that voice message saying "He's dead," and then immediately gets hit with the black rain pathogen announcement. She thinks she can catch her breath, goes out to dispose of bodies, and then—smells blood. Follows it to Building 3. Finds an entire building wiped out. Hides behind a cabinet while the killers talk about her. And the chapter cuts off mid-sentence: "The sound of foo"—a boning knife being drawn, presumably. There's also this great rhythm to the action sequences. The fight with the two intruders is over in paragraphs—fast, brutal, efficient. Matches Wen Xi's combat style. But then the Building 3 sequence slows down. She creeps closer. Hears voices. Climbs stairs. Finds corpses floor by floor. The tension builds methodically, making you dread what she'll discover next. The only thing I'd note is that the game interface sections, while interesting, sometimes slow the momentum. But honestly, they're brief enough that I didn't mind. The author knows when to push forward and when to let you catch your breath—and mostly pushes forward.
good story. I hope there's a second book cuz it kinda left some things unspoken but I loved there devotion too each other.

poor story telling and plot. I don't know why and how I stick to the end and unlocked all the chapters ... maybe I wanted to know how it ends. characters has no fixed personality, the girl suppose to be weak at the start being bullied but somehow she can fight back selectively when it's not Reece.
dear arthur, is this a part of the Wright's and Petrov series by RC Brie15?
Warning this rating may have some spoliers (part 1). I feel indifferent about this book. I wish there were more 'good moments' and not wait until closer to the end for it. There were a lot of trigger moments in this book and I questioned many times why I paid the coins to unlock all chapters.
