I didn't think I'd ever say this but I am emotionally compromised by a scene involving soap. Here's what happened: Yu Banxia comes home, scrubs her hands, and then suddenly remembers she has a whole warehouse of medicinal cosmetics in her Space. Goat milk silk soap, lip balms, facial masks—all in porcelain jars and boxes. She brings them out and her whole family watches ten bars of soap appear on the table like it's nothing. And her father just... understands. He doesn't question it. He's been briefed. The way the family reacts isn't greed or suspicion, it's this quiet, overwhelming relief that their lives are finally changing for the better. Yu Banta wipes away tears. Wu Zhuxiang's eyes well up when Yu Banxia says she's opening a restaurant for her. This is a family that has been struggling and someone is finally carrying them. The most touching part? Yu Banxia isn't doing it for glory. She's doing it because she suffered too—'she also suffered greatly'—and now that she has this opportunity, she's making sure nobody in her family has to suffer again. That's love. That's family. I'm not okay.

It's not terrible. The main character avoids getting entangled with those scoundrels again, which sets it apart from other novels where the protagonist is indecisive or even returns to them, making it a better choice. However, there's a point in the premise that confuses me, possibly due to reading it through machine translation.
The main character was supposedly adopted by the wicked adoptive parents as a cover or body double for their biological son. Initially, the MC was unaware of his adoption, and others believed him to be the biological child. What I find strange is that, based on the information available, both adoptive parents appear to be of Chinese ethnicity, while the MC visibly has mixed-race features. Multiple characters mention his mixed appearance, which is later confirmed when it's revealed that his father is European. If the plan was to pass off an adopted child as their own, it doesn't make logical sense that they'd choose someone like the MC, who is at least partly of a different racial background. If there's an explanation for this, I must have missed it.
