The pigpen and chicken coop she builds represent her attempt to create something good from nothing, to build a life that's truly hers. The two-story building in the village is another important symbol. It represents the Chen family's wealth - their hidden savings, their possessions, their power. But Chen Xi systematically empties it, taking everything that matters. The building becomes hollow, just like the family itself. The back room with the fresh-keeping function is particularly interesting. It's the only room that stays warm - the only space that preserves what's valuable. This mirrors Chen Xi's journey - she's learning to preserve what matters to her while discarding the rest. Then there's the symbolism of the cornfield where Chen Hong was assaulted. Cornfields represent rural life, farming, tradition - but also vulnerability and danger. Chen Hong was dragged into the cornfield, literally and metaphorically trapped by the patriarchy. Her scandal destroys the family's reputation, showing how the same system that exploits women also destroys them. The money - over ten thousand yuan - symbolizes the Chen family's true values. really good storyline can't wait for Sarah to find out that Silas is the DEVIL and for them to ruin the Lexington group so they can live happily every after.
