[Ding !!]
After dinner, I got up quickly and took everyone's plate. I decided to wash the dishes especially after my crimes from the morning and being lazy for the rest of the day. The moon was out and I decided to go outside on the balcony. Both girls accompanied me. Mia-san pulled out a telescope and Oneka-senpai pulled out three foldable chairs. The chairs were set up around the telescope and we each sat down, taking turn observing the night sky.
'I guess some students still can't adapt to the conditions and decided to stay in the village. It's not a bad idea to observe the conditions first but they still have to do something in the end.' I thought, gazing at couple clean looking students; 'Maybe they never play RPG games so they don't really know what to expect, should I help them? Nah, I better help myself first as for now I'm as helpless as they are if not for James, Alice, and Kana.'
I dont know where to go
"What was the name again?"
Chen Hanchen wasn't too keen about it when he heard Yan Xiu wanted to cook the eels, as the eels really smelled bad. But with Yan Xiu guarantee, he relented. He wondered what could Yan Xiu make out of these smelly eels.
"I never needed one! I've managed to keep myself out of any serious trouble, I just thought that..."Aaron trailed off from his explanation, watching as Jackson rubbed his forehead in frustration. After a beat of silence Jackson motioned him to come closer, not even opening his eyes to face him. Aaron obliged, closing the gap between them when Jackson's hand rested on the top of his head. Aaron almost reeled back on reflex, but the muscles on Jackson's arms held firm and kept him in place.Aaron glanced at the man warily, not taking the invasion of his privacy lightly, but Jackson grumbled with enough intensity to keep him quiet. The two of them stood there for what felt like an eternity, until something bizarre happened.
Quite tough to judge this novel, its obvious that many things are lost in the translation, especially in the first chapters, when many important info, mainly about the world setting, are not well-fully presented. Having said that, the translation quality has improved a lot, its actually not bad now. Anyway the concept is really interesting and well written, the novel has assimilated most wuxia elements and used them in a "modern"-apocalyptic world. The world build has soooo much potential, there is humour, decent romantic relationships, ruthless-kind mc, actually almost everything. Its really sad that another great novel of chen dong is undermined, this one by the translation in the first chapters and perfect world by its slow beginning and "abrupt" change of mc's character.
up till now goodlet's wait for the update
The novel is going great so far, I love how the God of War didn't fully take over Li Chen's life. the conflict between the two is what I am here for. can't to see what happens as the story unfold.
My first review ever on this app, writing in at ~300 chapters. I'm in love. Absolutely hands down one of the best I've read here. Excellent writing quality, with only very minor spelling mistakes that happen very rarely. Solid flow throughout. The pacing is excellent as it doesn't get caught up in the minutia yet still allows for character growth and time skips in a way that doesn't feel forced or ex-machina'd. I've seen some comparisons to HP, and honestly, apart from the "there is magic present," "the three leads are two kinda 'f*ck-up' men and an overly studious woman," and "the first major arc takes place in an academy" tropes, they really aren't similar at all. The characters are lovable and deep, even if they might not seem like it at first. There's foreshadowing and just the right amount of exposition as to why things are the way they are. There's tons of subtle nods to D&D without explicitly copying anything from it whatsoever. Incredible world building and power structure. I highly, highly recommend this for anyone who likes stories about magic users. I look forward to every chapter and seeing where the White Lotus takes Adam in the future. (Also, the author has a great sense of humor and is fairly active in the comments.)
I walked a dark path away from a falling sun that shed no light. I saw a knight of blackened armor. Cross not the same, the bottom of mine was longer. He asked would I due him this honor, of granting him a warriors sleep. I called the 600 souls to my side. Summoned the scimitar as their guide. From what they sowed I would reap. The battle long, though he was strong, and steady at his feet. He slayed all of my army. All but one, he forgot about little old me.
