This is one of my absolute favorite books! I recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
I can't get over the names of the boys... Cause here the names are Stephen(Steven)& Steven. I know your doing Stephen (Step Han! ) but it's a little odd.
There's so much layered beneath this story and I need to unpack it. The Ghost Gate Golden Needles aren't just plot devices — they're a symbol of inheritance and identity. Su Jiuyue touches them and 'her heart skips a beat' because this technique is 'etched into her very bones.' The original Su Jiuyue's mother left behind the same tools her reincarnated self already knows. It raises this beautiful question: is she here by accident or by design? The text says 'Was her arrival in this world also part of Heaven's design?' and I think the answer the story is building toward is yes — but the journey matters more than the destination. The black jade pendant is even more loaded. Smooth, warm, elegant — completely out of place in a poor village. Carved with a qilin, marked with the character 'Xiao.' Ning Wan'er claimed to be a refugee from a famine, but this pendant tells a different story. She was hiding something. The pendant becomes a symbol of hidden lineage, of secrets that could bring 'fatal disaster' if revealed. It's a ticking time bomb of identity. And then there's the grave itself — the central symbol of the entire sequence. Huo Zhixing kneeling on cold, wet earth (unaware he's kneeling on a rock, which is both funny and symbolic — he's willing to break himself for her, literally and figuratively). The grave represents everything Su Jiuyue has lost, everything she's fighting for, and the moment Huo Zhixing accepts it, he accepts her entire history. 'That single kneel honored not only her late mother — it was also the moment he truly accepted Su Jiuyue into his family.' The grave becomes a altar of commitment. The buried iron box under the stone mirrors the buried secrets in the pendant — both are hidden treasures that, once unearthed, change everything.
Please…..how often is this book updated? I just couldn’t wait for it to be completed and started reading it now I feel like I’m desperate for a fix. I just started it this morning and am on the current and last chapter, “Country Club Scene”.

Love this entire series but I think Mari’s story is my favorite! I mean come on— Dragons!! I’m so happy Mari finally got her happily ever after! A great way to finish a four book series!!
