Okay so let me just say—Pei Nai vs. Gongyang Zisheng is absolutely wild. She's fighting with an ordinary black iron spear against someone who literally has a named sword technique famous across the world, and she's STILL holding her own enough that he gets genuinely interested. The author drops this line: "'Blending Light with Dust'—a move famed across the world. Truly worthy of its name!" and I just... wow. This woman is fighting at an Upper Three level with a piece of metal she probably picked up somewhere, and she knows she can't win. The internal monologue where she thinks about the historical records claiming she defeated the Western Cold Blade ten years ago? That hit different. She's literally thinking "What nonsense. She couldn't even defeat the Upper Three Mountains." The gap between reputation and reality is so painful to watch. But the real plot twist here isn't the fight—it's Ju Liancheng showing up. Two months of Pei Nai trying to recruit him, and suddenly he appears with Yixi at the perfect moment to interrupt. And then he casually drops "This is the first time I've seen a duel between two of the Upper Three" before catching himself. This boy is either accidentally brilliant or deliberately playing 4D chess, and I cannot tell which. Pei Nai's suspicion is so valid. Then Da Xi'an walks in and proposes marriage mid-conflict. MID FIGHT. And Pei Nai's reaction—"This man… was even more shameless than she had been back then"—I literally screamed. The power dynamics in this scene are everything. She uses Ju Liancheng's secret as leverage, he gets caught off guard, and she flees. The chapter ends with her feeling like she's "fleeing in defeat" and that emotional note lingers so well.

Very Emotional and Touching.
This isn't your typical adventure with a dashing, clever protagonist or love interest who effortlessly overcomes every obstacle. Both the main character (MC) and the love interest (ML) carry their own insecurities and emotional scars. They heal each other, which is a beautiful aspect of the story.
The characters feel genuine, and you can't help but empathize with them. Their stories are heart-wrenching. There's no gratuitous drama or face-slapping. What makes this novel stand out are the inner thoughts of the MC and ML throughout the narrative. The plot is solid.
The side stories involving their children are also very touching. You can feel how deeply the MC loves his kids, and it’s genuinely adorable. I believe people who enjoy more realistic love stories in the boys' love (BL) genre will appreciate this novel, despite its fantastical setting. The characters and their stories are well-developed, and the emotions are intense. I would have given it a perfect rating if not for the sudden twist at the end of the novel, which somewhat spoiled it. The ending is unsatisfactory, particularly the revelation of the mastermind behind the scenes, which felt nonsensical.
**Spoiler Alert:**
The only downside I see is the reincarnation element. It turns out that the mysterious mastermind behind the ML's suffering and the experimentation program is actually the ML's past self. This, combined with a minor villain who is barely acknowledged and dies off quickly, feels like a convoluted plot device. Discovering that the character's tragic life was orchestrated by his past self feels like a cheap mind game. Additionally, the idea that their previous incarnations were god beasts, essentially gods in this life, seems unnecessary and could have been omitted.
Despite these issues, the cute and touching side stories make up for the less-than-satisfactory ending. It's definitely worth reading for those who enjoy touching love stories.
For those who might find the initial interactions between the MC and ML through a game with "yes" or "no" options a bit dull, rest assured that there's a transmigration and transportation to another world element that kicks in around chapter 72. Moreover, the game eventually evolves, and they interact with other characters in real life as well.
The novel has an interesting premise, and I enjoy the relationship between the two main characters. Unfortunately, the translation is far from satisfactory compared to the original text, which I find to be a very enjoyable read. It seems this group churns out machine-translated works with little to no effort in ensuring their quality.

- They also frequently repeat sentences, sometimes even tripling them. This appears to be the result of hasty editing where old sentences were not removed. A simple double-check would easily catch these issues, so it’s disappointing that they don’t take the time to do so.
I have read several of their other translations, and they all suffer from the same flaws. If you’re considering reading another story translated by this group, I would advise against it unless you’re extremely bored—really, really bored.
I hope someone will take over this project and salvage an otherwise promising novel that deserves to be read.

- Some pretty solid worldbuilding, especially for the generation before the MC.
- She has a strong desire to get stronger and challenge fate.
- The female lead (FL) and male lead (ML) have great chemistry and a well-developed relationship.
**Cons:**
- The MC says she wants to get stronger and challenge fate, but she often fails to demonstrate any of that.
- Instead, due to fate, she gives up several important and highly valuable opportunities to gain power as if they mean nothing. She doesn’t even try to maximize their benefits.
- The misunderstandings are frustrating. I’m over 200 chapters in, and every single character still thinks that the FL has a crush on the original male lead (ogML), which isn’t true. The FL doesn’t even bother to correct them. It’s so painful to read when you know it’s all nonsense, and so many chapters revolve around this stupid misunderstanding. There are unnecessary plot points built on something that should have been clarified hundreds of chapters ago.
- The ML also has this misunderstanding and wants to confess to the FL, but he ends up giving the ogML another extremely valuable object to help his cultivation for free.
- To be honest, I’m just so frustrated because I had high expectations for her when I started, but she constantly gives away precious artifacts and other things she worked hard or risked her life to obtain, all to the ogML for free. No wonder everyone thinks she has a crush on him when she keeps doing things like this.

Even the female protagonist acknowledges that the pampered MC seems more like a Mary-sue compared to herself.
The male protagonist, forced to keep a secret contract with the MC's friends due to the latter's paranoia, which reminds him of a possible romance between the characters. They switch identities temporarily to shield the MC from danger, as they share similar appearances. The male lead struggles to stay away from his friends, knowing it's not ideal.
The plot intertwines a BL game and an otome game, with two main heroines – one a normal character without any special circumstances, and the other a reincarnated MC. The story attracts bi-curious targets due to the crossover.
