Honestly I feel a little jealous, I think there are so many yaoi novel cheats that have such a cool idea, but I can't bear to read them... once I even started one that I thought was incredible with the mc having a "forced trade" skill and I tried to just ignore the tag, but when the protagonist put a collar on another man I couldn't stand it.
I'm especially envious due to the small number of non-yaoi novels with agriculture in the apocalypse, it's almost always a fighting power that the author nerfs to increase the number of chapters, and the MC takes female characters as pokemons or is a lone wolf.
A support skill would be much better at forcing the author to squeeze the most out of it, but it's always the same road MC OP -> Nerfed MC
Is this novel dropped? I don't feel like starting to read this if it has no ending...
geez it is indeed the same novel I kept re-reading and dropping again and again lol. It's because of the great reset that most of our comments under here are gone. Anw, I absolutely love the intro of this novel. It got harder to read because of the multiple povs (or from what i could remember atleast), and some other reason that it became quite boring for me to continue. I'll try to read this again...and hopefully finish it this time around.
For some reason, in random chapters, there will be missing paragraphs of text making it ruin the flow. Would recommend reading it somewhere else.
The initial chapters were delightful, but the subsequent progression became rather chaotic. I can understand the author's intention, but the portrayal of international animosity was excessive to the point where even I, as a member of Huaxia, found it cringeworthy. Additionally, the translation choices struck me as odd. To summarize the general storyline:
- Acquisition of a system
- Becoming a bodyguard for a tycoon's daughter
- Ascending to CEO of a company
- Entering law enforcement
- Joining the National Security Agency
- Somewhat transitioning into a mercenary role
- Continuing as CEO
- Dramatically dismantling rival nations like Japan (Ri Nation) and America (Mei Nation)
- Concluding with an alien invasion
I stopped reading after the alien invasion part.
It's alright; things took a downturn after all the divine events occurred. Emotions vanished from the narrative, leaving only a focus on profit and efficiency. The stories lacked depth – no love, no passion, just unrelenting greed and self-interest. Gods here resemble corporations, solely concerned with their own gains and indifferent to others. Perhaps the goddess of darkness is the lone exception, showing some emotional inclination, while everyone else operates like machines. In summary, the lack of emotional depth, including for relationships like parent-child or romantic connections, makes the story feel bland and predictable.
Despite that, I still made it to chapter 399, hoping for a greater sense of risk or emotional investment in the characters.
The story itself is enjoyable, but some readers felt it could have been more concise. The lengthy section with the Bee Queen, for instance, was deemed unnecessary. As a primarily comedic tale, it's easy to lose interest, and trimming down certain parts would have improved the overall narrative. However, despite this critique, the story remains commendable.
The subplot involving Jiaojiao and the demon rabbit prince was the least favorite part. Although it started off amusing, with the young, delicate Jiaojiao turning into a powerful fighter, the excessive violence towards the rabbit became repetitive and unfunny. The dynamics between them didn't feel genuine, especially since the prince's affection for her seemed implausible given their strained relationship.
The main characters, however, were a highlight. Each member had their distinct personalities and development, even if some received more attention than others. They were relatable and supportive, functioning as protagonists in their own stories without arrogance. The slow-building romance between the MC and ML was a sweet addition, fitting well with the theme of their evolving bond.
Regarding concerns about AI translation, the author mentioned that they charge for their translations, suggesting a human touch. The claim about AI seems doubtful, but without concrete evidence, it's hard to confirm. It's advisable not to support services that might rely solely on AI, especially when quality is expected.
