—oops excuse me. yes, yes coming through. Oh d*mn. How lucky are we that we don't get to wait with "bated breath" like the other people down here huh. Geez. Anw, that's an intriguing summary. We'll see if it's really a "squeal with delight as each new tidbit is revealed" type of shoujo novel.
It’s an ok read ;p
I feel the same way
LMAO I didn't realize the grades were a power system in here and thought you meant you started reading this when you were 6...
I was thinking you must have been all kinds of f*ck*d up from reading this so young lmao
The novel is an okay read if you're looking for something to pass the time. It follows a Shou who travels through different worlds to prevent Gong from becoming evil. In each world, Gong despises Shou and wants to kill him, but Shou, being a pro at his job, doesn’t let it bother him. By the end of each arc, Shou always manages to show Gong that his hatred is misplaced.
Each story arc has a compelling narrative, but they all have tragic endings. This is because, after completing his tasks, Shou leaves the world immediately, which essentially means he dies in that world. There’s only one instance where he stays for a few years because his system insists on it, to prevent the main character from becoming too obsessed with him. That’s my understanding from the machine-translated version, anyway.
I feel like the ending is a bit rushed. It’s unclear whether Shou truly loves Gong or if he just agreed to be with him to give the story a happy ending. Still, it’s a good read for yaoi fans like me.
The storyline of multiple main female characters attempting to eliminate the protagonist stands out as a refreshing and unique concept, skillfully executed within the realm of web novels. Frey, a character driven by his innate goodness as a pure hero, faces a compelling challenge from a system that forces him to appear evil for the greater good of saving the world. This inner conflict creates a captivating dynamic between his thoughts and actions.
As the heroines regain their memories, significant character growth occurs, exposing Frey's struggles and the emotional toll their knowledge takes on him. They come to understand the depth of his suffering, which affects his vitality and strength, making each challenge more arduous. The characters feel genuine and well-rounded, although at times their decisions might provoke frustration.
In summary, this is a well-written novel with a translation that complements the prose, making it a strong recommendation. However, it's not for the faint-hearted, as it features numerous bittersweet moments that can evoke a sense of masochism due to the nature of the story. The depth of the narrative is greatly enhanced by this approach, though it may require a certain emotional resilience from readers.
While reading the book Omoo, my emotions were overflowing with love and admiration. It's hands down the most adorable danmei story I've encountered thus far. Chapter 1 captivated me, filled with sweetness and unexpected plot twists, leaving me eagerly wanting more.
The main character, Cheng Yu, is an absolute gem. He's gentle, understanding, and incredibly handsome – the epitome of the ideal male lead in danmei stories. The way he expresses his love is a heart-melting treat, raising my standards for any potential partner in the future. Every scene showcasing his affection for the protagonist, Lin AnLan, made my heart swell.
At first, Cheng Yu seemed like a classic second male lead, devotedly loving from afar. However, his character evolves to display a realistic side, experiencing jealousy and possessiveness towards An'an. Yet, he remains genuine and pure in his love for Lin AnLan, hiding his negative emotions and showing only his purest feelings.
I couldn't help but fall for Cheng Yu's character. If someone like him were to enter my life, I'd be overjoyed. But alas, that's just a dream. Back to the story:
Lin AnLan's journey starts with heartbreak when his mother leaves him at an ice cream store. Through friendship with Xiao Qiao, he learns to differentiate between true love and abandonment, valuing those who genuinely care for him. At seven, he finds a new family with the Lin family, replacing a lost son who died.
Lin AnLan is a complex character – intelligent, straightforward, and fiercely loyal to those close to him. He's selective with his affections, making him challenging to connect with due to his high moral standards and limited emotional capacity. He values respect and authenticity, and any deceit or disrespect is intolerable.
His caring nature shines through when he supports his best friend Jiang Xu, demonstrating immense patience and love. Initially, I thought Lin AnLan might seem like a perfect, selfless hero, but his detachment towards Cheng Yu initially made me empathize with Cheng Yu's struggles.
Cheng Yu, coming from a wealthy background, had a complicated childhood. Born into a family with a distant father and a tragic past, he longed for familial love. His love for Lin AnLan was unwavering, but he struggled with expressing it, silently pining for nine years. His vulnerability and sacrifice left me deeply moved.
Jiang Xu, despite his selfishness and desire to bring pain to Cheng Yu, added depth to the story. His actions showed how one's own choices can lead to regret, and I wished for him to find redemption.
The story's fanwai (side stories) were delightful, from their childhood friendship to their chance encounter in high school. Their growth and eventual happiness were a joy to read.
While my English might not be perfect, the emotions I felt while reading Omoo were genuine, and I highly recommend diving into this enchanting tale.
High School DxD, an exhilarating read, captivated me with its engaging blend of action and humor. The story seamlessly combines the dynamics of a high school setting with the supernatural world of fallen angels and demons, creating a thrilling narrative that kept me hooked from cover to cover. The characters, especially Issei Hyodo and his unlikely companions, are endearing and their growth throughout the series is both entertaining and inspiring. A must-read for fans of fantasy with a dash of romance, this novel offers a roller-coaster ride of adventure that leaves one eagerly anticipating each new chapter.
Is miracle one of the fl’s?
Ch. 58 I don't even want to comment on this shallow plot anymore, this novel has suddenly gotten worse.
