I need to talk about the bone flowers. Not the plot function they serve, not the symbolism (though yes, please hold that thought), but the EMOTIONAL impact of a boy who can only express love through grotesque crafts made from his own world's debris, and the girl who treasures them anyway. Xia Miao says it so casually: 'Even if I don't like them, I still have to treasure them properly.' And Lu Yan's reaction — his heart literally tries to leap out of his chest and he has to physically hold it in with his hand — is the most vulnerable thing I've read in ages. This creature who terrifies everyone else is completely undone by one person valuing what he made. And then the hand-holding scene. Both of them turning away simultaneously, refusing to look at each other, while their fingers slide together palm to palm. The bandages on his face radiating heat. Her ears turning crimson. They've already kissed and yet THIS is what makes them short-circuit. The author understands something profound about first love: it's not the big moments that destroy you, it's the accidental intimacy. The first kiss confrontation is also peak emotional writing. Xia Miao's rage is justified and hilarious and heartbreaking all at once. She's protecting something real — her first kiss mattered to her, and his dismissal of it felt like a dismissal of HER. And his response, that tiny mosquito-whisper of 'that was my first kiss too,' completely disarms everything. I'm not crying, you're crying.
In my opinion, the ruthless, cunning, and manipulative actions of the main characters are justifiable and reasonable. Why? The main character (MC) was manipulative and cunning compared to everyone around him, including his harem. However, he had no choice but to be a villain to survive. If he stayed put, there was a significant doubt about whether he would make it to the end. The protagonist from the original novel might have killed him if he did nothing. If I were in the MC's position, I wouldn't gamble and stay idle; instead, I would manipulate everyone around me and use every means possible, along with my knowledge and information from the novel. Even though he was manipulative and seemed to play with people's hearts, he genuinely cared for his harem and had feelings for them, in my opinion. It's worth reading, although the updates are slow.
To be truthful, had it not been for the presence of my family nearby, I坚信此刻我早已泪流满面。这个故事堪称心碎之作,你知道最令人痛心且悲哀的是什么吗?剧透预警[折叠]实际上,这个故事是根据真实事件改编的,这让人更加感伤。
apparently the official publisher asked people to stop posting them so 254 will be the last one. or so I've heard
OMG Y'ALL IT FINALLY HAS BEEN SERIALIZED INTO A MANHWA!!!
If you have lots of time to spare, you should read this. The story progression is good till 1000 chapters, then it becomes into CHINA NUMBA 1 pandering but alas, it is a good read regardless. I would reccommend, the ending is bit meh though and romance is seldom.
