Love the book
Love this author and this book has great potential . wish book was updated regularly, 1 chapther a week is driving me crazy ...
you have not idea how you. I'm angry the this site
Still worth the read but not as good as the first two. The intrigue is lacking and the romance seems…forced? By the far the most boring of the series.
Really Really like it. Thanks to the author you give to us very good story.
Okay so this batch of chapters is honestly a masterclass in controlled pacing and I need to explain why. Chapter 27 opens with solitude. Lin Yuming walking alone, setting up her stall, the quiet rhythm of her morning routine. The author takes their time here. We get the Aunt Lian interaction, the Snowflake Crisp introduction, the price hesitation. It is slow but never boring because every beat serves character. The pacing feels like a gentle breath in. Then Chapter 28 hits like a wave. Xu Jinli arrives and the energy completely shifts. The boy rushes in, desperate for candy, and the scene becomes almost comedic in its warmth. His reaction to the Snowflake Crisp — "Sweet, fragrant, soft, and chewy, accompanied by the crispiness of nuts and pastry" — the author slows down right here for one sensory moment before the pace accelerates again with him throwing silver on the table. The System exchange detail is also a brilliant structural choice. Lin Yuming pretends to take more candy but actually swaps with the System. It is a quiet moment that advances the plot while deepening the worldbuilding, all without slowing the scene down. And then Chapter 29. Lu Guangzhi arrives. With a woman. The pacing here is surgical. We get the description of the woman in green, the jade hairpin, the wealthy family implication — and then the chapter ends on that single line: "Sister! The candy I gave you yesterday was bought here!" The author could have given us more. Could have shown us the woman's reaction, the tension, the conversation. But they chose to end there. That is a cliffhanger that does not feel cheap. It feels earned. The tension is building perfectly and I am already refreshing for the next chapter.
