I just read the last chapter and I've gotta say, this is among my Top Five Favorite books that I have ever read/listened to. I started writing short stories in the sixth grade and books in my To Five Favorites have always managed to get me writing again. I'm looking forward to more. ............

how can Xavier be good man when he was eyeing for his best friend wife, was he morally or even a decent human without any shit thoughts for others women who was clearly in emotional trouble with her marriage. rain & nicholas have love but can't express in way to each other & these new revelations....
I loved the first book, but this gave me a roller coaster of emotions! It made me fall for Theo too!

The pacing in these chapters is actually kind of wild when you step back and look at it. Chapter 40-something starts with action—killing a Level Five zombie, collecting the Crystal Core, everyone getting in the motorhome. Fast. Efficient. Then Chapter 18 pivots hard into character comedy with Wen Chi eating the Crystal Core and Chi Ye losing a tooth. The tonal whiplash is intentional and it works because the reader is already invested in the group dynamic. Then Chapter 19 drops the system reveal like a bomb while everyone is just sitting around waiting for Wen Chi to wake up. One moment they are wondering what ability she awakened, the next we are inside her head learning she is trapped in a novel and her only path to survival is to play the romantic lead who gets killed. That is a pacing masterclass. The author takes a scene that could have been pure exposition and wraps it inside a moment of quiet vulnerability—Wen Chi fainting from overthinking, Jiang Jiming carrying her like she weighs nothing. The confrontation with Xu Qiaofeng is where the pacing gets really interesting. It could have been a long dramatic scene with lots of dialogue, but instead it is sharp and clipped. Jiang Yanming accuses, Jiang Jiming owns it, Wen Chi chooses, Xu Qiaofeng accepts. Four beats. Done. Then immediately after they leave, Wen Chi asks Boss can you let go now and the tension deflates so perfectly. And then the chapter ends with her teasing Chi Ye in the kitchen. From world-ending stakes to Because I'm a Zombie~! in the span of a single chapter. The author knows exactly when to tighten the screw and when to let the reader breathe. Most web novels lose control of their pacing around here, but this one rides the wave.
