I have just read up to chapter 28, and I am both disgusted by the male lead (ML) and the female lead (FL). The ML is literally a scumbag to me, and the FL is an idiot. After reading the comments section, I felt like I should stop reading this novel because it makes me so angry; I'm a feminist, and this just doesn't sit well with me.
And I have a question for Chinese authors: What are you trying to prove with these abusive novels? In 99% of Chinese novels, the males are abusive. If a male is the main character (MC), he will have at least 5 to 6 wives; and if a female is the MC, she will usually have only one husband, who will be very overbearing, force her to have sex, and not allow other men to even look at "his woman." And after all that, the female MC is supposed to be grateful that the ML only has her as a wife. It feels like Chinese authors only enjoy their "dog blood" stories and think they are still in ancient China, where men could have multiple wives and concubines. ???
There's also something about the titles of these novels. For every Chinese novel with a male MC, the titles are often grandiose, like "The Great Alchemist," "The King of Hell," "King of the World," etc. But if it's a female MC, the titles are more along the lines of "Overload Love Me Tender," "King of Hell's Genius Pampered Wife," "Evil Wang Pampers His Ghost Doctor Fei," etc. It feels like, according to Chinese authors, women are incomplete without a husband and children, and sometimes it seems like a female MC has no more identity than just being a wife and a mother. I am deeply disappointed in Chinese authors. ???
Among the Chinese novels I've read, I only really liked "Poison Doctor's Cute Baby." This novel is really good, and it feels like there is at least one normal Chinese author out there.
A must-read for those who enjoy harem stories. The protagonist may appear as the antagonist, but he possesses a genuine kind heart and intelligence. Each heroine has her own distinct traits and personalities, embodying strength rather than simply being damsels in need of rescue. Their unique abilities and backstories drive the narrative forward.
In terms of plot, it goes beyond the cliché of defeating all demons and saving the world. It features unexpected twists, and the main character undergoes significant challenges and emotional struggles. So far, the author has created an intriguing, mysterious plot with well-developed characters with rich histories.
Positive aspects:
1. No one-dimensional characters.
2. Standout character, Serena, the "best girl."
3. Enjoyable romance.
4. The main character isn't overly powerful.
5. Many characters, including villains, have complex motivations.
Negative aspects:
1. Occasionally, descriptions can feel somewhat ambiguous.
Certainly, I can provide an analysis of the novel without revealing any spoilers. Here's a summary:
The character development in this novel is exceptional, as it consistently evolves throughout various plot twists and major events. Characters undergo emotional growth, adjusting their goals, and navigating intricate interpersonal dynamics. Given their knowledge of future events, deception and hidden truths create intense emotional confrontations, which drive the characters' personal transformations. As some heroines gain clarity and uncover clues, their understanding deepens.
The plot progression is seamless, with the protagonist and supporting characters working diligently to achieve their objectives. Each revelation challenges their initial perceptions and offers new insights, ensuring that readers remain engaged. The narrative unfolds with a well-structured sequence of events, avoiding any glaring plot holes, and even includes side stories that enrich the overall experience.
Regarding spoilers, the joy of discovering the story's twists lies in the journey itself, so it's best not to compare it with others, especially not with "My Death Flags Show No Signs of Ending." As for the question about falling in love with a seemingly antagonist character, it's worth noting that their relationship began before their villainous path became apparent, providing a nuanced explanation for the reader who has read the full story.
I freakin cracked up over that. I had to look up the original comment you made and idk how he got that mixed up. ??????

I'm giving the update a two because I've been stuck in chapter 7 waiting for the next chapter but it seems it hadn't been uploaded yet.
Do you know any other platforms I can get to read this book from...?????
What mostly drew me to this novel was its power system. I loved to watch Yugioh growing up so I have this fetish when it comes to card related powers in fiction. This one delivers right on that. I really love the fact it isnt just focused on the cards on being the sole power system but has additional others which stem from it. Main characters is fun especially in the first chapter but becomes more serious as the story progresses. I sense an edge lord on the horizon. FL is aight I guess , I really don't know how to describe her. Lastly I love the writing style. Other authors are trying to be Shakespear. Simplicity is best
I heard this author has tendency to release more chapters like 20-30 chaps in one bulk when someone gifts him a castle or something higher... I want him to suffer and end his stockpile... please shower him with castles...
By the way, this is genuinely a good novel... do give it a try ?
This has one of the best potentials ive seen in a novel in a while. It could become great with the way the writer is producing the story. Props to him
