Okay so let me just say—this chapter is a masterclass in dramatic irony and I am HERE for it. The whole setup where Jiang Wu gets dragged along on a business trip that is ostensibly about finding He Yuanzhou's white moonlight? Chef's kiss. But then—plot twist—he's NOT going to Xicheng to find Jiang Qian. He's meeting a tech entrepreneur named Fang Ye about neuromorphic chips and AI investment. The author literally drops this like it's nothing, just a casual mention in passing, and I nearly spit out my tea. And then the Elysium Corridor scene hits. Jiang Wu, thinking she's sneaking off to have fun while her husband is busy, ends up dancing in a red slip dress and gets discovered by BOTH Fang Ye AND He Yuanzhou. Fang Ye is over there casually commenting on her waist-to-hip ratio like this is some rom-com meet-cute setup, and He Yuanzhou is watching from the private room above like a storm is brewing behind his eyes. The irony is SO thick you could cut it with a knife—he came to West City for business, she came thinking she was just tagging along, and they end up crossing paths in the most explosive way possible. Also, the detail about Fang Ye recruiting the legendary programmer "OK"? That's a thread the author is planting for later. This isn't just background tech bro stuff—this is clearly setting up a larger plot about Yundun Technology's transformation and possibly a rivalry or alliance that will matter later. I'm already taking notes on every name mentioned. The whole business trip arc feels like it's building toward something bigger than just a jealous husband discovering his wife at a club. There's a tech subplot, a missing white moonlight subplot, and a marriage-of-convenience subplot all braided together. And honestly? The braiding is working.
