The system is just there as a means to insert jokes that are not even funny most of the time. at this point it only annoys me when system speaks or the author tries to joke in the middle of everything.
The writing is exceptional, and the protagonist's struggles tug at the heartstrings, making readers empathetically root for her. However, the main character's (ML) development felt lacking to me; he seemed somewhat one-dimensional. I believe adding more depth would have increased my emotional investment in their relationship. Unfortunately, the slow burn pace frustrated me, as I wished the romantic development had progressed earlier – personal preference, I admit, but it's a common reason I abandon books.
The revenge subplot and villains rubbed me the wrong way, contributing to my overall dissatisfaction. It might be that the pacing or my current reading mood was a factor. Despite not finishing the book, I did read up to around page 100 before skimming through the remainder to reach the conclusion.
In truth, I don't dislike the book entirely; it just didn't resonate with me personally. I enjoy the author's other works, and the premise initially piqued my interest. Perhaps if my circumstances were different, I would have enjoyed it more, but alas, it wasn't meant to be this time.
