This book was great from beginning to end. it kept you on your toes and I did not have to wait for chapters. Great job on this story line.
One of my favorite books so far. it keeps you intrigued the whole way through. I loved how the author tied everything together by the end.

The dialogue in this section is where the author really earns their keep. Let me start with Lu Yun's line: 'The matter with Nanny Jin... I owe you thanks.' Four words, and you can feel the entire power dynamic of their marriage shift. This is a man who resisted this union, who came into it cold and distant, now voluntarily acknowledging that his wife outmaneuvered him—and rather than bristle, he ADMITS it. Jiang Lingyuan's response is equally perfect: 'Actually, I was quite nervous when I took that step. Fortunately, Fourth Young Master is not someone stubborn and self-righteous, so there is no need for you to thank me.' She names her own fear, deflects the gratitude, and reminds him they're husband and wife—all in one breath. The author gives each character a distinct voice that emerges through what they choose to say and what they withhold. Lu Yun speaks in measured, almost formal sentences when he's being strategic ('You should ask Grandfather'), but softens considerably when discussing books or his grandmother's teachings. Jiang Lingyuan's dialogue carries more warmth but never loses its precision—she's always calculating, even in casual conversation. The scene where they talk about Grand Councilor Chen and the value of traveling ten thousand miles is genuinely delightful because it reads like two intelligent people discovering they think alike. 'Reading ten thousand books is not enough. One must also travel ten thousand miles'—this line from Lu Yun, arriving at the same conclusion she'd been nursing, is the kind of dialogue moment that makes you want to underline the page. Even the servants' dialogue feels purposeful. When Suodong asks about using the same fragrance, the author uses that exchange to show how everyone in the courtyard is watching, waiting, trying to read the couple's intentions. The dialogue doesn't just advance plot—it builds a world where everyone has something to gain or lose from this marriage.

Gosh! I can no longer wait since I have finished doing a marathon rerun with the previous 4 books! Now I have started reading this and unfortunately ended this again in one-seating… Now I have to wait more for the next updates until the story finished… More updates pleaseee!!!
