I’m very disappointed. This wasn’t premium in the past. I wanted to reread it but when I went back, I found that I have to pay for chapters I’ve already read. If they were going to make it premium they shouldn’t have done it to the chapters that have already been released.

The setting mirrors Lu Ling's internal state: shadowed, overlooked, but with this quiet intensity that draws people in despite themselves. And then the factory cafeteria scene! The author paints this whole ecosystem — over a thousand people, the social hierarchy laid bare, the female workers who turned on Bai Xiaotong because the men they liked were infatuated with her. "Being beautiful could sometimes make you quite a few enemies." Ouch. That line captures the entire social world of this factory district in one sentence. The setting isn't just backdrop here. It's actively shaping how these characters interact, who they can be together in private versus public, and what consequences they face. I love how alive this world feels.
