Apart from that I loved the ending. The kid was finally able to speak and to be honest when Lu jingzhes father said that she had sacrificed herself to become the trigger, I felt like crying at that. The way that kid yelled mommy again and again was too heartbreaking for me to handle.

I thought the first book in this series was good.. wow, it was for sure, but this one was 5x better. Absolutely amazing job author!! Cannot wait for the next ones to read - amazingly written, flowed well, and kept me wanting more throughout the entire thing. Cant wait to see what happens next! ?
The pace isn’t rushed. It’s kinda slowburn, I guess? But every scene is so detailed. It’s enjoyable to read
