I'll always remember the arc of the village and the murder "goddess," especially the scene where the main couple fights in the "gods' cradle." That part was absolutely amazing to read; the main character is so badass.
I had to skim through the parts about the Children of Desire and the Hanging Tree because they weren't explained as clearly as I would have liked, and I didn't want to get a headache trying to decipher the mess.
Apart from that, the book is really great, and I highly recommend it.
I appreciate the creativity in how he designed his own magic circle for teleportation between dimensions, and I admire his bold approach with his harem members. After all, what's the point of having a harem if you don't engage with them at all?
While those aspects are intriguing, the overall story lacks depth and excitement for me. It feels rather平淡, leaving me constantly anticipating something significant that never quite arrives. I do enjoy the characters, but my interest in the narrative itself is有限. Initially, I gave it three stars, but I'm not entirely convinced it deserves even that. In summary, it's a decent read if you're looking for a casual pass-time, but there are better options out there.

It's truly astonishing how well this xuanhuan (Chinese novel) has been executed. There's no over-the-top young master swooning over the protagonist's women in every chapter. No random clan elder creating trouble for the main character without reason. No gratuitous face-slapping to assert dominance or coincidental "once-in-a-millennium" events following the MC like a charm. The supporting characters aren't one-dimensional; they don't blindly dislike the MC simply because he's from a humble sect.
This narrative leans more towards a slice-of-life tale than an epic fantasy of struggle and immortality. Most characters are relatable and decent, resulting in fewer action-packed scenes. However, thanks to the comedic touch and the skillful writing by the author and translator, it remains highly entertaining.
As for the question of why the younger sister supports the MC despite his rigorous training, the answer lies in their shared experience. He was by her side through thick and thin, taking care of her when she was unwell and nurturing her growth with constant medical care and cultivation aids, practically raising her.

This novel was the very first novel I read like 4 years ago, even though my standards are higher, I still don't hate this novel, so I'm going to read it again (maybe) .
Yeah but it's still there, and that alone is enough to push many people away and leave them with an extremely negative impression. Idk what the author was thinking by including that, wouldn't of been bad if it was kept wholesome, It's a shame because the rest of the novel is actually really really good, the characters are amazing.
