I rarely write reviews, but I genuinely want to give this spectacular novel the attention it deserves.
The story's power system, plots, and mysteries remind me a lot of *Lord of the Mysteries*. The characters and cast are diverse, although I'll be honest—they can be annoying at times, like the mind-reader girl.
What I enjoy the most are the mysteries. It's refreshing to see a main character who doesn't let the plot constantly misrepresent him. Instead, he actively creates misunderstandings for his own benefit.
, it's a pretty good novel with a solid plot. I would actually rate this higher than most mainstream novels. It feels like an unrefined gem in a trashcan full of bad novels.

Mu Ling gets her identity exposed because the blur filter isn't some overpowered blur that exists in reality. It only works on digital cameras and similar devices, not obscuring her physical appearance. She had multiple encounters with the "police" of this world, and her skills were known to them beforehand, as she came from a well-known superpowered family that once saved the world.
Regarding the "functional insanity," it wasn't just thrown in randomly. There was clear buildup, including the MC's friend reminiscing about the past, the MC discovering his "actual" nature as someone with psychopathic tendencies, and how he didn't see people as human after investigating his past and his awakening. Even the meeting with his "other self" showed how he was reverting to his true nature.
I could elaborate on how he viewed others as "lower" than him due to his belief in reincarnation, but that's a whole different point.
The outer god argument makes sense, but you should consider it from the MC's perspective. It's not that the outer god intervened because he noticed; rather, the MC's presence subtly altered the timeline, changing the course of major events.
Additionally, the MC didn't heavily rely on past playthroughs. He mentions early on that in-game events were often randomly generated, so he only used his past experiences when recognizing specific quests.
What loopholes?
The Library of Ruina part was indeed overpowered, but the MC's friend didn't use it because he didn't know about it.

So, Arifureta was my second light novel (LN) I read, after Legends of the Sunlight War (LMS), and I must admit, reviewing it with a heavy heart due to nostalgia. While some might say it's not completely trash, the first volume was indeed enjoyable – I found it quite captivating. The issue arises when the main character leaves the underground setting, and the story takes a downward turn.
Many reviewers criticize it for losing its darker elements or turning into a romantic comedy harem, or perhaps because the MC embodies an emo version of Sasuke from Naruto, which isn't necessarily a deal-breaker – similar dynamics are common in other LNs like Shieldbrother. However, my main issue lies with the MC's sudden ability to create anything without explanation. In the beginning, his passion for guns allowed him to craft a simple cannon from local scavenged materials, which was impressive.
From the second volume onward, the unrealistic nature of his powers derails the story for me. His skills escalate to Chuck Norris levels, with no logical foundation. Initially portrayed as weak, he suddenly knows gun kata and can levitate – even constructing advanced technology like cars, submarines, and motorcycles, all powered by his magic. His weapons are mind-bogglingly complex, combining Gundam-like features, telepathic control, self-igniting hammers, micro-missiles, and retractable spikes. It's implausible for a normal person to possess such knowledge or access to necessary resources like gunpowder, alloys, and circuitry. Although he claims ancient knowledge as inheritance, it doesn't justify the creation of these gadgets.
If he were to just build a Gundam and defeat his foes, that might be more believable. Unfortunately, despite the engaging parts, the lack of plausible progression in the MC's abilities ruins the overall experience for me.
