After reading the story of Lucas, I was hopeful that Ryder's would be as good. I found myself completely immersed in this story, the adventures, brotherhood & love of the Team & family. My heart broke several times for Ryder. I laughed and cried with him and for him & Megan. Looking forward to 3.

The story is quite entertaining, but what bothers me is how the main character (MC) behaves. Despite being in a female body, the character's actions that align with femininity come across as natural, while the supposedly male actions seem forced. It's still a delightful series overall. For someone who roleplays as an elderly person, one would expect them to have developed more老年特有的习惯, but from what I've seen, it's mainly his mannerisms that give him an older vibe. Honestly, it would be more interesting if the charming loli portrayed the character's eccentricities more like an actual老人, rather than just maintaining a surface-level elderly figure of speech.
First and foremost, I commend the translator for their dedication during challenging times due to COVID-19, and the translation quality is impressive, staying true to the original source. I hope they have experienced better circumstances since the economy started recovering.
Now, onto the novel itself. Although the premise of a cool and composed protagonist acquiring skills unexpectedly is intriguing, the story takes a disappointing turn after the last update at chapter 65.
Issue #1: The author's portrayal of the main character is highly problematic. After quickly securing a girlfriend, Bai Xiaochun, in just two chapters, the MC becomes a constant flirt and insists on projecting a player image. The actions described, such as lying on other women's laps, shopping with them, and prying into their personal lives, border on inappropriate and give off a disturbing vibe, reminiscent of Jeffrey Epstein or Bill Gates' controversies.
Issue #2: Lackluster skills and shallow storylines contribute to the novel's downfall. The skills the MC acquires are underwhelming, and the chapters are excessively brief, turning the narrative into a mundane slice-of-life tale. The story relies heavily on filler content, focusing on daily activities without any substantial development or progression.
The plot lacks tension and meaningful application of the acquired skills. Skills are introduced haphazardly, without proper buildup or context, and resolved within a few chapters, leaving readers unsatisfied. For instance, the depiction of Deadpool's regeneration, basketball prowess, and hacking abilities feel forced and unexplored.
In conclusion, while the translation is commendable, the novel suffers from poor character development and a lack of depth in its plot and skill usage. The author appears to struggle with storytelling, resorting to clichéd scenarios and shallow interactions.
