The dialogue in this section is absolutely filthy good. Let me just start with Zhao Shize's apology because it alone is worth the price of admission: "I shouldn't have spoken nonsense without thinking. I-I'll make sure to think three times before I speak next time…" HIS MOTHER: "She had told her child to watch fewer costume dramas, but clearly, they had already influenced him deeply." I cannot stop thinking about this. The kid is apologizing like he's in a historical drama. And his mom's internal reaction? Pure gold. The author just drops this one line and I was wheezing. Then there's Sanzai's entire personality in one exchange: "Not even saying Auntie is pretty?" Zhao Shize looks at him with an expression of disbelief, silently accusing him of being unreasonable. Sanzai: "…" That silence says everything. This kid negotiated a truce and Zhao Shize is trying to extract a compliment and Sanzai is just done. The voice distinction between the three kids is also impressive — Dazai is the calculated one (negotiating terms with his mom about the driver), Sanzai is the fiery one (immediately charging at Zhao Shize), Erzai is the empathetic one (the first to worry about Mom's health). Three distinct personalities through dialogue alone. And Lin Shen's dialogue! The man who probably gives one-word answers in boardrooms is now being side-eyed by his entire family at breakfast. "What about me…" — this man, who has all the power in the world, reduced to seeking validation from his kids and wife. The humor comes from that gap between who he is professionally and who he is at home. The narrative voice itself is also doing a lot of heavy lifting. Lines like "Children were like blank sheets of paper, without a worldview or values—pure, yet empty. They only repeated what they believed, and though they were innocent, their words could be cruel" — that's the author stepping in with commentary that elevates what could have been a simple kids-fighting scene into something with real weight.
The description is extremely inaccurate! A word of advice: to truly enjoy this story, it is recommended (by me) to survive until the sword gets an owner. Until then, the sword-bro is kind of dull, which I actually enjoyed.
Why? Because it makes sense to me. He was just a random normal dude who died and found himself being a sword—an object. I believe we can fairly count his initial attitude as a post-dying shock, as his character expands greatly when he gets an owner.

As for the story, I'll give it a solid 4 for now. I enjoy the relationship between the protagonists. It's healthy, cute, and my god, it can't be from Japan.
Ah, right—*one of the reasons I ignored this novel so far was the description. It misrepresents the story terribly. It made me think it was another silly overpowered main character story full of crap. Instead, as of chapter 31, it's quite heart-warming (Sword-bro and Fran interactions kawaii :3) and finely paced. A lot is happening, and oh boy, can't wait to get more.
As the novel begins with a sudden shift from a zombie apocalypse to ancient times marked by famine, I found myself less than thrilled. The female lead is injured, imprisoned, and struggling to access any food from her magical storage space without drawing attention. She has confided in her father, but it’s clear that their path forward won’t be an easy one.
So like does he get stronger or just stays weak but uses his smarts ?

I found this to be an enjoyable.The mc is a loner and is distrustful at first.But he has his reasons and certain incidents only reinforced this trait of his.Even then he did have some meaningful relationships and now he is coming out his shell and opening unto others.Being able to reach his target and the trials had a great part in it.And his partner helped as well.Honestly,I thought the romance was pretty realistic.They come to care and love each other over time instead of a burning passionate romance.I'm waiting to find out how he confronts his past.I'm also curious about the reason for the reincarnation.The first chapter was one of the weirdest I've seen.I hope I find out soon.
Not yet, but almost there?, I don't know why, but I can't binge this like some other novels, I've been reading 2 to 3 chapters every night, hopefully I finish it by the end of summer.

I'm thrilled to have discovered a fantastic novel with a strong and grounded female lead after such a long time. The characters are refreshingly relatable, as they possess both virtues and imperfections, making them genuine and endearing. The storyline is well-balanced, and the romantic development unfolds naturally, creating a satisfying narrative. Reading it has taught me valuable life lessons too. I highly recommend giving it a read; you won't be disappointed.
