I love this book!
The cover got me hooked and the fact that it's a true love fe story prompted me further .Such a good read
The dialogue in these chapters is deceptively simple. On the surface, it's sparse — almost austere. But that's exactly what makes it powerful. Every line feels earned, and every silence between lines feels intentional. Let's talk about Lu Yanzhi first. His dialogue is short, clipped, and always carries an edge. "Don't move." "Mm." "You don't need to pretend to care. Just stay away from them." "Do as you wish." Each line is a door closing. He doesn't explain himself. He doesn't soften. Even when he's physically caring for her — massaging her waist, treating her injury — his words remain cold. The contrast between his actions and his words is where the character lives. He cares, but he won't admit it. He protects, but he frames it as control. This is a man who has learned that vulnerability is dangerous and has built an entire personality around never appearing vulnerable. Song Zhiyao's dialogue is different. She's more tentative, more explanatory. "I know you don't believe me, but I genuinely care for Shen. You can monitor me." She's trying to bridge the gap, trying to make herself understood. But Lu Yanzhi doesn't want to be bridged. "No need. I've given you chances. Many times. And every time, he had been disappointed." This line — delivered without quotation marks, almost as an internal thought — is devastating because it's the truth from his perspective, and it shuts down any possibility of conversation. And then there's Lu Jinyu, whose dialogue is full of self-righteous performance. "There's no possibility between us." He's not just rejecting Song Zhiyao — he's performing rejection for an audience of one (himself). Lin Guan Guan's dialogue, meanwhile, is sugary and manipulative. "Brother Jinyu, why not go see Song Zhiyao?" — said with the innocence of someone who has no intention of letting him go. The author gives each character a distinct voice, and more importantly, each character speaks from a fundamentally different understanding of reality. That's what makes the dialogue feel alive — it's not just words, it's worldviews colliding.
I actually really enjoy reading the same plot over and over with different characters and varying vibes. It might not be highly original, but I feel strangely refreshed after reading it. The children are just so sweet, and the main character is truly endearing.
It's a really fun series, I definitely recommend you read it.??
