Oops I forgot to review one of my top novels after so long! (At chapter 508) ~ ima make it spicy then ~Honestly the MC’s character progression is slow but I appreciate that there is a more realistic resistence to change. You cant expect someone to go from strong family values to ruthless killer at a drop of a hat. He does progress though so chill.He isnt super OP or has any hacks/cheats. He has had a lucky encounter but his grind to the top is not smooth sailing at all. His talented friends keep up with him so there isnt a new group of people every arc... thank God for that because its hard Remembering so many names in novels! Also the depth each side character has is amazing and I ended up torn between main plot and wanting more side stories. Harem? No harem? Not sure yet, the author is tight lipped but there is juicy romance! Romance is a very well written subplot but not a dominate theme (yet). Im still not completly backing any ship yet! I will point out that the authors closure/shut down of one love interest was so well done that even though i hated the character it was worth every word i read. She could make a come back though, who knows how they will progress because these characters arent just a one off appearence. Though IRL history does foreshadow a spicy adulterous return. The unique flavour of this novel is its histories, myths and legends written into the plot. I love exploring Earths rich history through the plot while trying to google the history in the background. The undercurrents of the novel and its mysteries are closely tied with the above and make the novel so much more entertaining. So the world building is off the charts. To summaries, there is a reason why this novel is consistently in the top charts and these rankings are not wrong. PS - if you want a ruthless MC with a tragic backstory without the cringe edgelord vibe check out Blood Elf Monarch. Same brilliant character designs and mysterious plot but opposite vibe from this story. It was my first Avan novel too!
The writing quality is the best out there. I see no problem with the grammar, but people might say I have low taste in grammar. That might be true, but as long as I can read the text, it's enough for me.
This story could be quite tasty as Boxxy T. Morningwood would say. The only problem it has is that from chapter 30 to 40 it seems like a robot was writing it, checking events off of a checklist as it plugs in different names and places. Overall I'm still willing to give this story a chance as long as the following chapters aren't copy and paste like chapter 39-40
I like how the story is going so far. I rlly love this kinds of kpop novels but its hard to find them. I like how the mc wants revenge on his group that betray him. Please don't drop this author?
Raw: 我从战斗余波中提取属性1 star for TL quality. They changed the mc's name, from Chen Mu to Cory. It sounds very cringe to hear this in a cultivation novel. Also, this book is very boring to read. The only good thing about this book is the concept where the MC can increase his strength by staying near the place where people fight. Other things are very very boring.
Chapter 53! I think I've read enough to make a review because the quality is constantWriting quality (5 stars): There are very little grammatical errors if any. This novel is not for people who have basic understanding of English because it uses a lot of sciences although in basic level, the wording is very technical sometimes. The writing is good, the concepts fresh, the cohesion fluid and the dialogues follow the common sense of that world and sometimes are hilarious. Is impressive compared with a lot of other novels in this websiteStability of updates (5 stars): chapters daily, sometimes more.Story Development (4.5 stars-> 4 stars because there is not .5 in WebNovel): The story is like a snowball. The first chapter you have a shapeshifter with the ability to absorb genetic code that isn't able to use the powers of that world, meaning mana, and it has social phobia. On a side note it seems to be a little broken in the head *cough*. Then we get a unique backstory telling us that the shapeshifter is 3001 years old. After that in a chain of events well put together we start knowing more about the world, the races living within, social order, power structure and more and more. I won't spoil anything but I can tell you that if you give the story time it can develop into something interesting. The reason of the minus 0.5 is that the power level difference of each realm is a little vague.Character design (5 stars): What can I say about our beautiful, intelligent, cunning, broken murderer psychopath... She truly melts my heart *sniff*. *Chuckles* our MC is a 3000 year old being that has suffered A LOT, imagine living in a cultivation world as a mortal for 3000 years, yeah, you can go through some nasty events. Her personality although quirky she is extremely intelligent and the only times she shows her true self is with the FL named Foel. Foel entrance is not a typical one, she is slave catcher, meaning she catches people and then sells them to slavery. She is a Kudere with 450+ years behind her back. As you should have realized the main characters are Anti-hero like. Foel tries to catch our MC and well... it doesn't go well. They start in extremely bad foot by the MC forcing her (which Foel deserves for all she has done), the MC want to use her for her satisfaction but affections begin budding and well. that is how I met your mother right? The rest of the characters all have their own personalities from heroic to simply crazy, from extremely cunning to plain stupid. In short, we can see that there is a lot of work behind each character.World background (5 stars): If you tell me to describe the World background in one word it would be Deep. You may ask, what do you mean by Deep? We start in a realm, the we are introduced to gods, angels, hellspawns an entity that gives systems to some people, different energies, paths of cultivation, races, monsters (called calamities in this novel) and more. The thing is that the cultivation realms specially the later ones are not just I gather energy and Boom breakthrough. Nonono there are challenges that must be bested and a lot more. The habitants have their own culture, because of the type of world, they are not so adverse to killing well, there have been only 50+ chapters and I can speak about all of this you can get the idea of the work behind this novel.My personal opinion of this novel... Well, before, I tried to be objective yet you can see some personal bias so it goes without saying that I like it a lot. I hope that the author can go with this novel to the end. If you have read the review until here go read the novel. I really mean that it is worth it to at least give a try until chapter 10.
This is an incredible cultivation novel without face slapping and the cruelty that come in almost all the cultivation novel on this site.

Anybody that compares this to My house of horrors or Lord of mysteries truly has a screw loose. Plus this is so low standard I can't even. The novel also has a veryyy shallow view on female characters as we are reminded very often in fact all time, that's all what they exist for really in this novel and that's not even all of it.
