Read through these chapters. I adore this novel just as much as "Malicious Empress," albeit for different reasons. Regarding the content, previous reviewers have hinted at plot points, so I won't delve into that.
The key distinction between "Malicious Empress" and this novel lies in how the male lead uncovers the female lead's past. In "Malicious Empress," SM revealed her past to XJX as a dream, reflecting her clean slate after rebirth. However, in "Star General," her重生发生在 another person's body, preserving her past experiences. Xiao Jue pieced together clues and deduced He Yan's former identity, which I find particularly captivating about this story – the attention to detail, intricate storytelling, and the grand revelation.
While "Malicious Empress" was heartbreaking, "Star General" tugged at my heartstrings. The latter half of the novel left me teary-eyed, as both He Yan and Xiao Jue had more complex backgrounds than Shen Miao and Xie Jing Xing. SM had a loving family, unlike He Yan, and Xiao Jue carried guilt for his parents' death, whereas XJX didn't.

I appreciate He Yan's character in this story; it's well-developed. Throughout the novel, Xiao Jue accuses her of lying, causing me immense emotional pain each time. Initially, Xiao Jue believes she deliberately deceives him, but He Yan genuinely perceives her alter ego as her true self. When Xiao Jue says, "Liar, I fear you've become too immersed in your role, so I must remind you," it dawned on me that He Yan's character has layers. She gradually realizes or accepts that there's a genuine He Yan beneath the facade. Later, she tells Xiao Jue, "Sometimes, it's inevitable to lose oneself when playing another's role for too long," urging him to remember her true identity.
The heart-wrenching aspect is that Xiao Jue misunderstands her intentional lying, only realizing her sincerity later when he sees inconsistencies in her character. The pinnacle of deception, according to him, is when the truth is spoken through a seemingly unintentional lie. What he perceived as deceit was, in reality, the truth.
In the climax, when everyone discovers that General Fei Hong is actually a woman, the shock is palpable. It's not that nobody could have guessed, but rather, she was so convincingly male that it was god-like. It demonstrated her complete disregard for her former self.
My all-time favorite, highly recommended.

I noticed no one mentioned this, so I feel compelled to share – the Yan He and Cheng Xiu couple (also known as Yan Cheng) is truly unforgettable. Even years after reading the novel, I can't accept Yan He's demise, leaving Cheng Xiu widowed and Mu Xia without a father. The final epilogue by Cha Cha focuses on this couple, leaving readers like me with a lingering sadness despite the main couple's happy ending. Whenever I recall this couple, tears well up uncontrollably.

The novel is quite engaging if you can overlook the male characters with perverted intentions towards our timid protagonist. Pay close attention to the complex personalities and the 'male yandere' theme, as many pursuing Wen Qing embody these traits. As I mostly relied on machine translation, my comprehension might not be perfect, but I believe I grasp the essence.
I genuinely appreciated the storylines; they were intriguing and contained unexpected twists. Each scenario felt purposeful, contributing to world-building and offering insights into the gods controlling the world and its mysteries. As Wen Qing experiences each copy, he gradually pieces together clues, attempting to unravel the world's secrets.
Our main character can be a bit of a crybaby, so if you prefer strong and assertive protagonists, this might not be your cup of tea. However, I admire his growth over time as he learns to fight back and defend himself, though not always successfully due to the power imbalance.
In the first copy, his excessive crying can be attributed to the negative emotions the environment induces, causing depression, fear, or sadness, as per my interpretation. After the initial arc, his crying reduces as he adapts to the world.
The novel boasts a vast cast of male leads, and while I have favorites, they face challenges in obtaining Wen Qing's affections. The harem tag accurately represents the numerous characters who fall for him, with varying levels of complexity.
Here's a brief overview of some key male leads:
1. Ji Yu: Terrifying and reminiscent of a devil, he seeks to manipulate humanity's descent into chaos. Despite his deceptive charm, both MC and I were deceived by him.
2. Si Kong: A god on the side of humans, he's trustworthy and supportive, making Wen Qing feel safe around him.
3. Yu Xing: Focused on lust and love, he's unpredictable and enjoys playing mind games. While not entirely malicious, he sexually harasses the MC.
4. Zhou Zhou: A terrifying human lead with an obsessive interest in Wen Qing, often crossing boundaries.
5. Bai Tong: A decent ML, respectful, and protective, he's a rare positive presence among Wen Qing's suitors.
6. Oz: Another intense character, not as bad as Zhou Zhou but still forceful, with a hint of respect for MC's boundaries.
7. Ye Ye: A tsundere-like character who develops a crush on Wen Qing, eventually becoming friends.
8. Xing Ze: One of my favorites, an NPC turned ally who cares for and protects Wen Qing, though not the main ML candidate.
While I'm uncertain about the true love interest, I suspect it might be 001, the sentient system that provides support to Wen Qing, a theory I'm fond of.
In conclusion, the story isn't bad and has its merits, especially in terms of storylines and character development. Despite its length, I'm still engaged and plan to continue, albeit at a slower pace.

And the 2% was the probably the last 50+ chapters of the main story, the parting and saying eternal goodbye to the FL's parents,master, and to her lover. Anyways just read this, it's a very good story. If you just want some light hearted novel to read, not something casual, but something with an actual plot and story. Then this is for you.

(Rant) The story is pretty good some minor mistranslations until Vol.5 chapter 51 man I had enough I mean the guy even said (spoilers) that he wants both his adopted daughter and Veirya but cmon we all know she wasn't attractive to you just because of the boobs but the guy had to be "TSUN" about it man but I really recommend this if you get tired of Action and Cultivations manhua or novels but if there's a chance for Lin and Lucie hit me up please.
