Salavira, known as the Holy Son, has spent two years imprisoned in a cold iron cage within the Holy City temple. Though revered as a divine figure by the common people, he is treated as a fragile prisoner by the church hierarchy, guarded by silver-armored soldiers rather than worshipped. When the Gate of Hell cracks and the demon lord Asmodeus is released, the church intends to use Salavira as a bargaining chip, ordering his release. However, Asmodeus arrives before the scheduled time, destroying the temple and rescuing Salavira from his golden chains, intending to exact a thousand years of pent-up revenge for the betrayal that sealed him away.

Asmodeus brings the weakened Salavira to Hell, where he discovers that his ancient enemy is now a shadow of his former self—physically frail, scarred, and submissive. Despite his hatred, Asmodeus finds himself unable to bring himself to torture Salavira to death, instead deciding to keep him as a slave to torment slowly. However, Salavira reveals a hidden agenda. While pretending to be weak, he had been secretly forging a dagger from his own soul during his imprisonment. In a sudden reversal, Salavira stabs Asmodeus through the heart, draining the demon's magic power to restore his own strength. He reveals that he has no heart, only a void filled with this weapon, and escapes Hell, leaving the demon to return to his seal.

Salavira travels to Solent City, a decadent haven for nobles, to investigate the truth behind a city-destroying massacre that occurred two years prior, an event that also led to the death of his mentor, Margaret. To gather information, he infiltrates an auction house by selling himself as a slave. He is purchased by Count Karen, a noble involved in the massacre, and after subduing him, Salavira learns that Viscount Charles is the true power behind Solent and holds the secrets he seeks. Simultaneously, Asmodeus, having sensed Salavira's presence, arrives in Solent and disrupts a summoning ritual by demon worshippers, killing them in his search for his escaped slave.

Three days later, Asmodeus attends the grand auction ball hosted by Charles, where he spots Salavira disguised as a woman in a black gown. The demon invites him for a dance, leading to a private confrontation in a sealed room. Salavira attacks Asmodeus with his soul-forged dagger, wounding the demon severely before being forced to retreat when the auction begins. The ball descends into chaos as the attendees, influenced by demonic magic, engage in depraved acts. The auction features a legendary holy relic, a gray bead that can transform into infinite gold, sparking a bidding war that reaches thirty billion gold coins.

Asmodeus intervenes, bidding three hundred billion gold coins to win the relic, claiming Salavira as his slave in the process. When castle guards surround Salavira, the Holy Son refuses to be restrained, threatening to kill them all. He leaps onto the stage and seizes the relic, escaping the immediate grasp of the guards but remaining in a tense standoff with Asmodeus. The story concludes with Salavira possessing the powerful artifact and Asmodeus determined to reclaim both the relic and his slave, setting the stage for a continued conflict between the former Holy Son and the Lord of Hell as they navigate the corrupt politics of Solent City and their shared violent history.
