What Should I Do When My Girlfriend Turns Into a Zombie?

Xin Tan and Qi Can are university students at Yuncheng University whose lives are upended when a mysterious three-day storm traps them in their respective dormitories. The weather disrupts power and water supplies, isolating the students from the outside world. On the third night, the storm intensifies, and Xin Tan witnesses grotesque, bloodied figures approaching her dorm through the rain. Her roommates dismiss her fears, but the threat becomes real when a zombie breaches their floor. During the chaos, Xin Tan is bitten by a zombie disguised as a friend and subsequently falls from the sixth-floor balcony after a struggle with the infected individual. Her roommates, terrified of the infection, lock her out on the balcony rather than let her inside, leaving her to succumb to the virus and the fall.

As she navigates the zombie-infested campus, she encounters another unique zombie named Yu Jiazhi, who retains some level of intelligence and hygiene. Together, they interact with a human survivor named He Chuyun, forming an uneasy alliance as they move through the dangerous university grounds.

Qi Can, refusing to accept Xin Tan's death, joins forces with his roommate Xu Yishu and a tech-savvy classmate, Shen You, to search for her. They learn from a professor that the outbreak may be linked to unusual atmospheric phenomena and that the school authorities issued the holiday notice without full knowledge of the impending disaster. Qi Can and Shen You infiltrate the security office to review surveillance footage, where they witness Xin Tan's transformation and her desperate attempts to reach him. The footage confirms she is alive but changed. During their escape from the security office, Qi Can is injured by an explosion but manages to spot Xin Tan in the distance.

Xin Tan, hearing Qi Can's voice, finds him unconscious in the bushes. Despite her zombie instincts and hunger, she resists the urge to bite him, remembering his importance and fearing he would suffer the same fate.
