The king was simply acting out a play. He came close to Arawn, but not close enough to endanger his own life. Whenever there was even a hint of danger for him, the archmage would use the ether to subtly change the ground or blind Arawn.

They all waited for something to happen with bated breaths. The Snake Queen's long tongue danced in the air as she looked for any sign of Satyrus. The Bull King's hooves made the Earth quake with every stomp. Lupin, the Wolf King, ran rounds around the forest while sniffing vigilantly. All the Beast Kings prepared anxiously.

The number of enemy ships doesn't seem to matter. Alice notifies Adam whenever a new invasion force arrives and he simply summons twice their number and let his ship's AI to slug it out with the enemy.

good story and all but why is it called the beast system I mean if he is only going to be a wolf then it should be call the warewolf system or something if its supposed to be called the beast system then it should have more than 1 beast

Pretty good so far the story is a dark intriguing medieval mysteries with strong historical medical science very good

Another novel from my favourite author. It's always fun to read the chapter and the way you put your thoughts in words, it makes the chapters interesting. Amber is definitely my favorite and I am looking forward to seeing how she works things out. Overall a must read book and trust me it's unique.
