Jake Caratao was abandoned by his parents when he was six years old. He had no family to turn to, no friends, or anyone. But he managed to support himself by working at a coffee shop while continuing his studies. Jake was always bullied at school, beaten up, and faced almost every misfortune imaginable. One of his bullies was Faye Smith, who harbored a deep-seated anger towards him for reasons she couldn't understand.
However, when Jake changed, Faye noticed and became curious about what had caused the change. As her curiosity grew, she found herself developing feelings for Jake without even realizing it.
But by that time, Jake was a different person.

Jake turned at the sound of his name.
"I like you, and I love you... but I know you can't forgive me for everything I've done to you. Still, I have to confess my feelings." Faye said, tears in her eyes.

The story is a bit slow at the beginning because it's filled with slice of life, but as it progresses, it picks up fast pace. So, just try it. Each chapter will get better.
