Read a few chapters after the pay wall before I dropped it.
Good idea, bad execution that slowly gets worse.
The MC leans into his medieval mindset really fast. he turns into a a hole fast, but not even an enjoyable one.
The author gives a couple blanket statements on how the Mc knows the inventions early on, a lot of them make no sense for the Mc to know. It was the same thing with the resources to make the inventions, just a blanket statement that the barony is rich in steel.

I suppose that America in this world will not be discovered for a long time because Constantinople is still in the hands of the Byzantines who even if not Catholic have relatively cordial relations with the European countries. So it would be a good idea to send exploration and colonization ships to the new world and the Atlantic islands to make America and maybe even Oceania and South Africa (very sparsely populated at that time) the chasse gardé of Germany and at least give Germany a considerable advantage before the other European countries understand anything.

I hoped for a more realistic kingdom building, but some of the things the MC does makes it hard to believe in the story. I also dislike the MC personality, but that's personal opinions.

I'm here to leave my honest opinion, I've read for now until chapter 56 and although the construction of this world is cool I'm getting disappointed with the constructions of the characters, a lot of contradiction in a matter of few chapters like, for example, the mother of the mc when she says that she wouldn't allow linde to be with her son and if she had a child she would do anything to separate them or adele who says she wouldn't forgive him if her fiance were with another woman and also chapters later acts totally different, it's these inconsistencies that are discouraging me. I will read some more and if this continues I will be abandoning it, I hope the author is mature enough to understand that this is a criticism of a book and not a personal attack.

So. Gonna re-read this one for the 4th time, now with account.
It's a great novel, however, I suggest for all non Europeans to keep a 1500 Europe map at hand.
Also yes there is *nc*st and yes the Mc is a little racist.
HOWEVER, for some of the main racist things, you should just know that uniting humanity is impossible because Humans will always divide into two groups if there are none. So it's better to have 5 countries that compete than 1 big one that collapses from the inside (looking at you there USA), And also that many of the modern "nice" politics don't work in the long run.
Now back to the actual racism, the Author works a lot with the concept of "Power corrupts". This is very clear throughout the book. He also made clear (on discord) that the racist stuff isn't completely his opinion but is supposed to be from his body's original inhabitants side, which is logical for a 1500's noble.
Overall it's a great book, for people who think.
