Traveling to the 1960s: The Apocalypse Woman Driven Crazy by Flirting.

Ming Shu is a woman who survived a decade in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where Earth was barren and resources were scarce. After dying in that harsh future, she reincarnates into the body of an eighteen-year-old girl with the same name in 1970s China. She finds herself in a hostile environment, living with an adoptive family that despises her. Her adoptive mother, Lin Wanmei, and father, Ming Hai, have four biological sons whom they favor excessively. For seven years, Ming Shu has been treated as an outsider, subjected to starvation and neglect while her adoptive siblings were well-fed. Despite the abuse, she maintained a fragile peace by stealing food from her brothers when necessary, establishing a reputation that kept them terrified of her.

The central conflict ignites on the day of Ming Shu’s high school graduation. The family dynamics are already tense, with Lin Wanmei plotting to get rid of her adopted daughter. Director Wu, a man from Lin Wanmei’s factory, arrives with a proposal: he will secure employment for Lin Wanmei’s sons and promote the couple if Ming Shu marries him. Desperate to secure her sons’ futures and rid herself of Ming Shu, Lin Wanmei drugs Ming Shu’s drink with an aphrodisiac intended for livestock, planning to force her into the marriage. Ming Shu, aware of the trap due to her past-life instincts, fights back. She uses a rusty fruit knife to threaten Director Wu and her mother, inflicting wounds on both to escape. In her drugged and delirious state, she flees to an abandoned house where she encounters Shi Yan, a man she had previously crossed paths with. They spend the night together, an encounter that leaves Ming Shu with a mix of relief and lingering suspicion.

Upon returning home, Ming Shu confronts her adoptive family with brutal efficiency. She forces Lin Wanmei to confess the truth: Ming Shu is not their biological daughter but the niece of Lin Wanmei’s sister. The couple had accepted money from Ming Shu’s biological parents but used it to support their own sons, deliberately starving Ming Shu in a failed attempt to kill her so they could adopt their own son, Ming Xin, in her place. Ming Shu reveals she has discovered hidden bank deposits and letters from her biological parents that her uncle concealed. Instead of immediate violence, she issues an ultimatum: Lin Wanmei must publicly confess her crimes and suffer the social consequences, or face further retribution. The scandal spreads through their housing complex, ruining the reputations of Ming Hai and Lin Wanmei.

Ming Shu decides to leave the city and voluntarily signs up for the sent-down youth program, choosing Heilongjiang Province, a remote and cold region far from her abusers. On the train, she encounters a group of educated youth from Beijing, including Zhou Wenfu and his companions, who attempt to bully and manipulate her. Shi Yan, the man from the abandoned house, also boards the train and intervenes when one of the men attacks Ming Shu, revealing a past connection between them. Ming Shu refuses to acknowledge him openly but accepts his protection, maintaining her independence. Upon arrival in Heilongjiang, the group faces a ten-kilometer trek to Qingshan Brigade. The privileged Beijing youths struggle, while Ming Shu, conditioned by her survivalist past, handles the physical demand with ease.

At the brigade, Ming Shu is assigned to a dilapidated house with nine other educated youth. The local village chief is hostile and unhelpful, providing only meager grain loans and no assistance with chores. Ming Shu quickly adapts to rural life, recognizing that her survival skills from the wasteland make her uniquely suited for hard labor. She begins to establish herself in this new world, distancing herself from the drama of her adoptive family while navigating the complex social hierarchies of the commune. The story sets the stage for her future in the countryside, where she must rely on her wits, physical strength, and mysterious spatial ability to thrive in an era of scarcity and political turmoil.
