Transmigration: Marrying Into the Frontier as a Sickly Princess

Lin Jiayan, a recent university graduate and aspiring medical professional, dies after a skiing accident and awakens in the body of the Sixth Princess of the Southern Kingdom. Upon arriving at Ge Prefecture, the princess is met by Chahar and his younger brother, Ajina. Chahar is a seasoned warrior, cold and imposing, who views the political marriage with disdain. She spends her days in isolation, finding solace only in playing with Chahar’s young nephew, A Ming, and visiting Chahar’s elder brother’s wife, Dulan.

A turning point occurs when Lin Jiayan uses her modern medical knowledge to relieve Dulan’s chronic back pain through massage and acupressure. This act earns her the trust and affection of the royal family, particularly Dulan, who sees in Lin Jiayan a kindred spirit. Meanwhile, Chahar begins to notice subtle changes in his wife. He discovers her attempting to exercise, an endeavor that ends in a twisted ankle, and carries her back to her tent. During this time, he also secretly repairs the hole in her tent wall, an act of care he does not openly acknowledge. Their relationship remains strained by pride and misunderstanding, yet a tentative respect begins to form between them.

The narrative takes a darker turn when a typhoid fever epidemic breaks out within the tribe. A Ming falls critically ill, and the local physician, Cheren, is unable to treat the disease effectively, as antibiotics do not exist in this era. The outbreak triggers deep trauma for Chahar and his family, who lost their mother to the same disease years prior. Lin Jiayan recognizes the symptoms of typhoid and understands the gravity of the situation. With no cure available, she must rely on her knowledge of hygiene and supportive care to help contain the spread and treat the patients. The crisis forces Chahar and Lin Jiayan to work together, breaking down the emotional barriers that have kept them apart. As the epidemic threatens the stability of the tribe and the life of the child they both care for, Lin Jiayan must navigate the political tensions and medical limitations of this ancient world to survive and protect her new family.
