Jiang Qingshu, a top-tier actress from the modern world, dies in an accident and transmigrates into the body of a twenty-year-old woman with the same name. This body belongs to the daughter of General Jiang Kun, a celebrated military hero. The original Jiang Qingshu was born with an intellectual disability and was forced into a political marriage with Xiao Lijing, the Fourth Prince, to secure her father’s loyalty. For five years, she endured relentless abuse, humiliation, and degradation at the hands of her husband and his favored concubine, Mu Wanling. The abuse culminated in Mu Wanling orchestrating a ritual assault on Jiang Qingshu in a ruined temple, resulting in pregnancy. To protect her daughter’s honor and career, General Jiang Kun staged a fake suicide, hiding the pregnant Jiang Qingshu in the countryside with her son, Lin Bao. Four years later, political turmoil leads to the Jiang family being framed for treason. They are sentenced to exile in the northern frontier, a death sentence in all but name, as the Emperor plans to have them assassinated along the way.

Upon awakening in the prison cart, Jiang Qingshu discovers she has brought a magical blood-red bead with her from her previous life. This bead contains a fully stocked shopping mall from her modern world, complete with infinite food, supplies, and a spiritual spring capable of healing injuries. Realizing she is a character in a tragic script she had previously read, Jiang Qingshu resolves to change her fate. Before the exile begins, she uses her teleportation ability to return to the General’s Manor and Prince Li’s residence under the cover of night. She systematically loots both estates, emptying their treasuries, food stores, and valuables into her spatial dimension. She also burns down Prince Li’s manor and publicly humiliates Mu Wanling by stripping her naked in the street, settling old scores before the family departs.

The Jiang family, including General Jiang Kun, his wife Sun Yuluo, and their five children, marches toward the northern border in shackles. Jiang Qingshu reveals her recovered sanity to her family, fabricating a story about a mysterious master who has been aiding them. She uses her spatial supplies to provide food, medicine, and warmth, gradually healing her father’s old wounds and strengthening her siblings. When the escort guards attempt to abuse her son Lin Bao, Jiang Qingshu seizes the opportunity to drug the guards’ food and escape into the wilderness. She leads her family off the main road, avoiding the assassins sent by Prince Li and the Emperor.

As they travel through the harsh northern landscape, the family encounters desperate refugees fleeing the drought-stricken south. Jiang Qingshu uses her supplies to help a starving mother and child, but soon discovers that the refugee group is being led into a trap by human traffickers. Her brothers, skilled warriors, defeat the traffickers and save the captives. Jiang Qingshu continues to guide her family, using her modern knowledge and spatial resources to navigate the dangers ahead. She plans to avoid the fate of her original family in the script, aiming instead to build a new life and power base rather than relying on the independent city of Tianwen. The story follows her efforts to protect her family from political persecution while uncovering the deeper conspiracies behind their downfall.
