Transmigration 1970s: The Sweet Little Wife Is Spoiled to the Extreme by a Mad Rough Male Lead

Shen Yingying, a modern woman from the twenty-first century, wakes up pinned against a tree trunk with a man’s hand crushing her throat. The man behind her is Xie Fangzhu, the novel’s ultimate antagonist and her legal husband. Initially terrified, Shen Yingying attempts to explain that she is not the original host, but finds she cannot speak the truth due to some unseen rule of this world. She quickly adapts her strategy, deciding to feign weakness and remorse instead of defiance, which is what the original Shen Yingying always displayed. She tearfully apologizes to Xie Fangzhu, claiming she was scammed by a fake factory director who promised her a job in exchange for money, rather than having eloped with him. Her performance is convincing, and for the first time, Xie Fangzhu hesitates. He had expected her to curse him and deny everything, but her sudden vulnerability and tears confuse his singular focus on revenge. Despite his suspicion, he carries her back to their home in the mining district, where a crowd of gossiping neighbors awaits to witness her punishment.

Back at the house, the situation escalates when a hostile neighbor, Liu Guizhen, attempts to physically assault Shen Yingying. In a significant deviation from the original plot, Xie Fangzhu instinctively protects Shen Yingying, dodging Liu Guizhen’s attack and silencing the crowd with a menacing glare. This act reveals that his feelings are beginning to shift, even if he is not yet aware of it. Inside the house, Xie Fangzhu retrieves a carrying pole, intending to break her legs as he did in the novel. However, Shen Yingying, desperate to avoid this fate, makes a bold move. She kisses him, shocking him into dropping the weapon. The encounter leads to a heated confrontation where Shen Yingying claims her innocence and purity, offering to prove it by sleeping with him. If she is pure, she demands a divorce; if not, she accepts any punishment.

Xie Fangzhu, whose innocence in romantic matters is surprisingly intact, is overwhelmed by her actions and the revelation of her purity. He agrees to the terms, and they spend the night together. The next morning, the dynamic between them has fundamentally changed. Xie Fangzhu is no longer the cold, calculating avenger but a flustered, caring husband who tends to her needs. Shen Yingying, realizing she has survived the immediate threat, begins to navigate her new reality. She confronts Wu Xiaoxia, her so-called best friend who orchestrated the setup with the fake factory director. Shen Yingying exposes Wu Xiaoxia’s hidden jealousy and manipulation, asserting her dominance and securing her position as Xie Fangzhu’s wife. The story concludes with Shen Yingying and Xie Fangzhu sharing a meal, their relationship transformed from one of abuse and revenge to a complex bond of mutual dependence and growing affection.
