Transmigrating into the 1960s: The Capitalist Heiress Cuts Ties and Follows the Army

Xiang Wanwan, a modern office worker, transmigrates into the body of a cannon-fodder supporting character in a novel titled "The Capitalist Nanny: Following the Army to Win the Military District Commander." Set in Nanshi City in 1965, she finds herself in the body of Xiang Wanwan, a capitalist heiress whose mother died when she was young. Her father, Xiang Xinrong, had an affair with the family nanny, Li Jinglan, and brought her daughter, An Shuxue, into the household. An Shuxue is the female lead of the novel, possessing a magical space that she uses to攻略 the original host's husband, Lu Jingnian, the military district commander. The original Xiang Wanwan was manipulated into falling for Ning Feng, a man from a corrupt family, and followed him to the countryside, where she died of illness after being abandoned and bullied.

Upon waking, Xiang Wanwan realizes the dire situation she is in. The Lu family, led by Lu Jingnian's parents, has visited three times to demand that she follow her husband to the island military base, as they desire an heir. Meanwhile, An Shuxue and Li Jinglan scheme to send the real Xiang Wanwan away to the countryside with Ning Feng, planning to have An Shuxue take her place in marrying Lu Jingnian. Xiang Wanwan, furious at the injustice, slaps both An Shuxue and Li Jinglan when they suggest she elope with Ning Feng. She confronts her father, exposing his affair and An Shuxue's illegitimate status in front of the Lu family when they arrive the next day. This forces Xiang Xinrong to admit the truth, but he attempts to pass An Shuxue off as a substitute bride. The Lu matriarch rejects An Shuxue, calling her trash, and accepts Xiang Wanwan as the rightful daughter-in-law.

Xiang Wanwan agrees to follow the army but demands her mother's dowry and fifty thousand yuan from her father. She discovers that the jade bracelet, which activates the magical space in the novel, was given to An Shuxue by her father. During An Shuxue's birthday party, Xiang Wanwan publicly claims the bracelet as her mother's inheritance. Her uncle, Huo Zheng, arrives and supports her, forcing Xiang Xinrong to return the bracelet. Xiang Wanwan activates the space, discovering it contains a spiritual spring, a wooden house, and fairies that can find treasures and clean. She uses the space to steal all of her father's hidden wealth, jewelry, and kitchenware, leaving the Xiang household empty. She then uses her influence to sign An Shuxue up for rural construction, sending her away to the countryside as originally planned for the protagonist.

Before leaving, Xiang Wanwan cuts ties with her father, securing a severance document to prevent him from reclaiming her or demanding support. She departs for the island, meeting Wang Hongying, a fellow military spouse traveling with her twin sons, on the ship. Upon arrival, she is greeted by Lu Jingnian, who is cold and distant but handsome. He takes her to their home, a modest courtyard in the military compound, and leaves her to settle in alone. Xiang Wanwan uses her space to clean the house and stock it with supplies. She befriends Wang Hongying, who lives next door, only to discover that Wang's husband, Chen De, has a mistress living in their home. The story ends with Xiang Wanwan confronting the mistress and defending Wang Hongying, establishing her role as a protector and her determination to navigate her new life on the island with independence and strength.
