Chu Yangyang, a modern woman with no memory of her past life, awakens in the body of a Commandery Princess who shares her name. Realizing she has only four months to live according to the original plot, Chu Yangyang desperately seeks a way to survive.

Immediately, Chu Yangyang halts the castration, dismissing the eunuch and sending away her scheming maid, Peilan, who was loyal to the original host's malicious nature. She then sets a trap for her stepsister, Chu Xinyao, who is eavesdropping outside. Chu Yangyang drugs Chu Xinyao, strips her, and stages a scene to make it appear as though the stepsister was attempting to seduce Luo Xifeng. Xiao Renyu, now aware of the original timeline, accuses Chu Yangyang of framing her. Chu Yangyang, realizing the gravity of the situation, proposes a cover-up to protect the Chancellor's Manor and the temple's reputation. She convinces Xiao Renyu to accept adoption by the Chu family in exchange for silence, effectively neutralizing Xiao Renyu's immediate hostility and securing an ally.

Luo Xifeng, however, remains deeply suspicious. He confronts Chu Yangyang, accusing her of orchestrating the temple incident out of jealousy. Chu Yangyang, facing a life-threatening situation, reveals that she knows his true identity and his desire for revenge against the Chu family. She offers to help him uncover the truth behind the Luo family's massacre in exchange for her life. Luo Xifeng, intrigued by her knowledge, agrees to a tentative truce. Meanwhile, Chu Yangyang captures Chu Xinyao, who is caught sneaking into her room at night. Chu Xinyao is beaten and exposed as the true mastermind behind the temple incident. The narrative establishes a fragile alliance between Chu Yangyang and Luo Xifeng, as she navigates the treacherous political landscape of the Chancellor's Manor while trying to prevent the catastrophic events foretold in the novel.

As the story progresses, Chu Yangyang must balance her survival against Luo Xifeng's growing trust and the political machinations of her family. She works to dismantle the schemes of Chu Xinyao and Concubine Jin, who seek to undermine her position. Luo Xifeng continues to test her, watching for any sign of betrayal while utilizing her assistance to investigate the conspiracy that destroyed his family. The dynamic between the two shifts from pure enmity to a complex partnership, with Chu Yangyang striving to rewrite her destiny and Luo Xifeng seeking justice. The altered timeline creates new uncertainties, as the rebirth of Xiao Renyu and Chu Yangyang's interventions have already deviated significantly from the original novel's events, leaving both characters navigating uncharted territory in their quest for survival and truth.
