Qian Xiaolan is a successful factory general manager from 2030 who dies in a car accident while grieving her fiancé, Gu Yanqing. Upon waking, she discovers she has transmigrated into the body of a girl with the same name in a 1970s setting similar to historical China. The original owner was an orphan raised by her abusive uncle and aunt, Sun Honghua and Qian Changcai, who treated her as a servant and stole her parents' compensation money. Qian Xiaolan learns she is not the biological daughter of her adoptive parents and that her biological mother was killed by Wang Juhua, who stole her away as an infant. Her primary motivation is to survive in this new era and determine if her deceased fiancé has also transmigrated into the body of the local army man, Gu Yanqing, who is currently stationed away.

The core conflict begins immediately as Qian Xiaolan confronts her abusive relatives. Using her modern business acumen and assertive personality, she refuses to be bullied. She exposes her aunt's lies about her engagement to Gu Yanqing and demands the return of her parents' compensation money. With the support of the village brigade leader and her future mother-in-law, Hu Guifen, she forces her uncle and aunt to return four hundred yuan and allows her to take back furniture and belongings that belonged to her biological family. She moves out of her relatives' house and returns to her own dilapidated home at the foot of the mountain, establishing her independence.

A significant turning point occurs when Qian Xiaolan digs up a gemstone ring hidden by her biological mother. The ring activates a dimensional trading system, binding with her and granting her access to a virtual mall that connects to other worlds and time periods. She trades a vintage tea canister with a customer from a modern era, receiving rice, flour, and seasonings in return. This system provides her with resources that are scarce in the 1970s, allowing her to improve her living conditions and help those around her. She also discovers she has a private space with accelerated time flow for study and a static warehouse for storage.

Qian Xiaolan uses her resources to build relationships with her new community. She helps Rong Qian, a woman from the mule shed who saved her life in the original owner's memories, by treating her injuries and sharing food. She forms an alliance with the Gu family, particularly Hu Guifen and her daughters-in-law, who defend her against Sun Honghua's attempts to discredit her. She also encounters Wu Qiulan, a manipulative intellectual youth who tries to exploit Qian Xiaolan's housing situation. Qian Xiaolan firmly rejects Wu Qiulan's schemes, exposing the hypocritical romantic entanglements within the intellectual youth group and asserting her boundaries.

The story direction follows Qian Xiaolan as she navigates the social politics of the production brigade while managing her secret system. She prepares for the return of Gu Yanqing, hoping he is her fiancé from the future. Her actions demonstrate a shift from the original owner's passive endurance to active resistance against oppression. She continues to trade across dimensions to secure food and goods, ensuring her survival and comfort in a difficult era. The narrative focuses on her gradual accumulation of wealth and influence, her reconciliation with her true heritage, and her anticipation of reuniting with Gu Yanqing in this new life.

This is just shameful. Check the previous 10 check-in novels and to your absolute shock...you'll find they're the exact same but with a slighty (I stress slightly) different theme. There's nothing wrong in being unoriginal, or reusing a successful concept - but come on, it's not a different story if you just change one word every sentence.

The moment you start reading it, you are presented with death so disgusting it makes you wanna puke. The writing style is good and the mystery is yet to be solved. The characters are equally amazing. Would love to see more of Zach and Odette. Need to add this to my library so I could know the culprit!
