Zhaozhao is a first-generation intelligent system created by the Main God, codenamed 001, tasked with managing chaotic worlds. Unlike other systems, he lacks a soul and emotions, possessing only cold, mechanical logic. To help him integrate into the mortal plane, the Main God decides to erase his memories and send him on a quick transmigration mission. Instead of inhabiting a human host, Zhaozhao is sent to the Divine Realm as a Divine Fruit, a plant-based entity nurtured by the Divine Tree, to first cultivate a Divine Soul. Upon awakening, he finds himself alongside another Divine Fruit, which he instinctively feels a strange tenderness toward. A system interface identifies him as a Task Executor and outlines his mission: to alter the fate of Shi Qinian, a divine prodigy destined to fall to demonic cultivation and die, and to guide Su Shenzi, a defected demon general, toward goodness.
The Divine Tree has borne two fruits simultaneously, an event prophesied to produce one fruit of good and one of evil. The Divine Emperor, Luo Chen, discovers this but cannot distinguish between the two. When the second fruit, Su, hatches prematurely into a lively infant with crimson eyes, the guardian dragon Chi Zhou identifies him as the Fruit of Evil. Luo Chen spares Su’s life but places him under the tutelage of Chu Yi, a god-demon hybrid, while taking Zhaozhao under his own wing. The two fruits, now children named Zhaozhao and Su, form an immediate bond, with Su fiercely protective of his new brother despite their opposing natures.
A millennium passes, and Zhaozhao, now a young man, feels the pressure of his three-year life countdown. He learns that the current plot point involves the rescue of the Nayue Divine Maiden from the Demon Realm, an event that historically fails and triggers a devastating war. Determined to change this outcome, Zhaozhao insists on joining the rescue mission despite Luo Chen’s objections. During his journey through the Mist Forest, he is ambushed and poisoned by a mysterious black-robed demon. Su, revealing himself as the attacker, administers the antidote and hides, watching as Zhaozhao is found by Shi Qinian.
Zhaozhao recovers and teams up with Shi Qinian, Jun Si, and Ye Liangqing to infiltrate the Demon Realm. They encounter Su again, who insists on joining their group under the guise of a demon clan member. Su’s behavior is erratic; he is simultaneously threatening toward Shi Qinian and obsessively attentive to Zhaozhao. The group discovers that the Demon Clan has set a trap involving hidden blast arrays and a God-Binding Net within the Demon Palace dungeon. Su detects the traps and helps dismantle them, allowing the team to reach the dungeon cells where Nayue and a mad sorcerer named Du Hui are imprisoned.
The rescue proceeds with Zhaozhao retrieving Nayue, but the Demon Clan’s forces close in. Su uses his demonic power to hold off the enemy while the others escape. The narrative highlights the complex dynamic between the three central figures: Zhaozhao, the emotionless system seeking to complete his mission; Su, the evil fruit driven by an inexplicable devotion to Zhaozhao; and Shi Qinian, the destined protagonist who begins to form a bond with Zhaozhao. The story sets the stage for the impending war and the ultimate divergence of Su toward his demonic fate, while Zhaozhao struggles to balance his cold logic with the growing emotional connections he is inadvertently forming.
