Transmigrated as the Female Cannon Fodder in a Male-Oriented Comic

Zuo Zhu is a comic artist who finds herself transported into her own abandoned college-era creation, The First Ghost Catcher. Upon arrival, she discovers she has inhabited the body of a female cannon fodder character destined to die in the first chapter. The story is set in a remote mountain village where the male lead, Huo Fu, appears as a handsome ghost catcher by day but transforms into a bloodthirsty demon by night who devours women. Zuo Zhu initially faces immediate execution when the demon version of Huo Fu prepares to eat her. Using her knowledge of the character's limited intelligence and gluttonous nature, she tricks him by claiming her body contains too much fat, persuading him to let her lose weight first to improve the taste of her flesh. This delay allows her to survive the first night.

Zuo Zhu navigates her new reality by maintaining a careful balance between the human and demon personas of Huo Fu. She endures grueling physical exercise to satisfy the demon's demands while relying on her wits to avoid detection by the other survivors. A group of college students, including Lin Tianming and Liu Minmin, are trapped in the village, unaware that the seemingly normal villagers are actually ghosts repeating their final moments. Zuo Zhu learns that the village is a sealed zone of death energy, and Huo Fu intends to use the life force of the living to escape, with Zuo Zhu serving as his reserve meal until then.

As the plot progresses, Zuo Zhu witnesses the tragic backstory of Niuzi, a vengeful female ghost who was abused and murdered by the villagers. Niuzi forces the survivors to experience her suffering through an illusion, sparing Zuo Zhu only because Huo Fu intervenes to protect his food source. Zuo Zhu realizes that Huo Fu was also a victim of human traffickers who sold him to the village, where he was abused until his dual personality emerged. After killing his abusers, he has been trapped in the village, gathering death energy to seal the ghosts inside permanently.

The conflict escalates when Li Fang, another survivor, attempts to betray the group to dark spirits in exchange for his own escape. Zuo Zhu exposes his treachery, leading to his death at the hands of the spirits. Huo Fu then destroys the dark spirits, revealing his true power. Zuo Zhu actively participates in the destruction of the traffickers who abused Huo Fu, tearing apart their shadow forms with her own hands. This act solidifies her alliance with Huo Fu, who agrees to let her leave the village with him in exchange for her help in managing his demon side after they escape.

The story concludes with Huo Fu preparing to break the seal on the village. He reveals that he has acquired money from the traffickers and plans to leave with Zuo Zhu and the surviving students. Zuo Zhu continues to play the role of the flirtatious companion to protect her secret, while secretly planning her future. The narrative ends with the group preparing to depart, leaving the haunted village behind as Huo Fu completes the ritual to trap the evil spirits within the mountain forever.
