Transmigrated as the Delicate and Dramatic Military Wife in the 70s

Yun Ange, a twenty-four-year-old woman abandoned at an orphanage, dies saving a child from a river and transmigrates into the body of a cannon fodder character in a novel she read two years prior. The novel, titled "Qin Feng Enters the City," features a tragic ending where the original owner, also named Yun Ange, is killed by villagers after being manipulated by her childhood sweetheart, Luan Yingjie, and the heroine, Qin Feng. The original Yun Ange was a naive educated youth sent to the countryside due to her family's capitalist background. She wasted three years of her life obsessing over Luan Yingjie, who used her for money and status before abandoning her for Qin Feng, the daughter of the village team leader. The original owner died of a fever induced by her own foolishness after being goaded by Luan Yingjie to avoid marrying her current husband, Qin Lingnian. Yun Ange wakes up in the body just as Qin Lingnian, a stoic army officer and Qin Feng's cousin, is caring for her. She realizes she has only five days before the original plot leads to her death and resolves to change her fate.

Qin Lingnian returns home for a three-day leave to finalize his marriage with Yun Ange, who had previously forced him into an engagement by faking a loss of innocence. Upon waking, Yun Ange discovers the bite marks on his lip from the night before, when she bit him while feverish and delirious. Qin Lingnian, aware of her previous attempts to avoid the marriage, is suspicious of her sudden change in attitude. However, Yun Ange proposes they get the marriage certificate immediately and, more surprisingly, asks to join him in the army. This decision is strategic; by becoming a military wife, she can escape the toxic environment of Daqin Village, protect her family from political repercussions, and distance herself from Luan Yingjie and Qin Feng. Qin Lingnian, noting her genuine desire to change and her previous mistreatment of his mother and younger sister, agrees to the arrangement but plans to live separately to maintain boundaries.

The couple heads to the county seat for the marriage certificate, passing Qin Feng and Luan Yingjie, who are surrounded by villagers praising Qin Feng's fashionable clothes. Qin Feng attempts to publicly shame Yun Ange by accusing her of bullying Qin Lingnian's mother and sister. Yun Ange counters by revealing that the clothes Qin Feng is wearing were originally hers, purchased with money borrowed from her by Luan Yingjie. She meticulously lists the debts, exposing Luan Yingjie's financial dependency and deceit. Qin Lingnian supports her by claiming he paid for the fabrics, effectively shielding Yun Ange from accusations of possessing contraband from the city while simultaneously humiliating Luan Yingjie. The villagers, who had previously mocked Yun Ange, begin to question the moral character of the couple, damaging their reputation.

Luan Yingjie, furious and humiliated, demands an IOU for the money he borrowed, threatening to sever ties once he repays the debt. Yun Ange demands he write the IOU on the spot, insisting on full repayment by year's end. When Luan Yingjie hesitates, Qin Lingnian throws a pen at him, causing a minor injury that draws blood. Qin Feng's father and brothers arrive, intending to confront Qin Lingnian, but he defuses the situation by offering money for Luan Yingjie's medical treatment and apologizing for the "accident." The confrontation leaves Luan Yingjie and Qin Feng publicly exposed as manipulative and greedy. Yun Ange and Qin Lingnian leave the village, heading toward a new life in the army, having successfully broken away from the original plot's tragic trajectory. Yun Ange is determined to rebuild her relationship with Qin Lingnian through sincerity, while Qin Lingnian watches her closely, wary of her schemes but intrigued by her transformation.
