The core conflict centers on the impending arrival of one hundred thousand players who will treat Spring City as a dungeon, causing temperatures to plummet to minus sixty or seventy degrees Celsius while an invisible barrier seals the city. The players, hardened by previous survival challenges, view local residents as NPCs and competitors, leading to widespread violence, resource hoarding, and societal collapse. Jiang Qi must navigate this threat while concealing her unique position as a train conductor, which marks her as both a target and a potential ally to the state.

A key turning point occurs when Jiang Qi decides to report the survival game to authorities rather than attempting to survive alone. She demonstrates her claims by materializing a curved blade and using a multi-form mask to change her appearance, convincing government officials including Commander Zhang Zhengtian and Secretary Li Yue.
