Song Qian, a principal dancer from a contemporary troupe preparing for a European tour, collapses from exhaustion and awakens in the body of Sang Miao, a beautiful but shallow member of a 1970s Chinese military cultural troupe. The new body is physically gifted for ballet but lacks the muscle strength and discipline of Song Qian’s original physique. Initially panicked by the transmigration, she quickly recognizes her situation as the setting of a novel she had read recently. In that story, Sang Miao was the vain, antagonistic second female lead who wasted her talent on social climbing and jealousy, ultimately destroying herself by targeting the reborn female lead, Zhao Weiwei.
