Lin Han, a modern woman from the twenty-first century, transmigrates into the body of the cannon-fodder supporting character in a novel titled The Capitalist Koi Miss Loved by All. In the story, she is the biological daughter of Lin Yangfeng, a wealthy capitalist patriarch, and Lin Jiaojiao, the stepmother Chen Yueyang's favored niece, who is actually Chen Yueyang's illegitimate daughter. The original Lin Han was bullied relentlessly by Lin Jiaojiao and ultimately forced to marry the gravely injured military cadet Huo Qizheng in place of her own fiancé, Feng Tianyou, who had been seduced by Lin Jiaojiao. After the marriage, Lin Han was abandoned by her father when political turmoil struck, sent to the northwest for re-education through labor, and died in misery. Using this advantage, she systematically loots her father's secret vaults and her brothers' hidden stashes, transferring gold, jewelry, and antiques to her friend, who in return sends her modern supplies, food, and automated farming equipment. She also sabotages the ship her father prepared for his escape to Hong Kong, replacing his crates of treasure with potatoes and sinking the vessel, ensuring he loses his fortune. Meanwhile, she frames Chen Yueyang for the theft, causing Lin Yangfeng to beat his wife and lock her in the cellar. Lin Han further orchestrates the downfall of Feng Tianyou and Lin Jiaojiao by leaking rumors of their premarital affair to the Feng family, leading to their public disgrace and eventual arrest by the Red Committee for their family's capitalist crimes.
With her family ties severed and her enemies ruined, Lin Han departs Shanghai for Qingzhou to officially divorce Huo Qizheng. On the train, she identifies and helps capture two enemy spies, earning the respect of National Security agents. Upon arriving at the military base, she learns that Huo Qizheng is a decorated war hero and an orphan who has been in a coma since his injury.
