She brings a group of servants to intimidate Su Yunzhu, expecting the original Marquise to submit. However, Su Yunzhu stands firm, refusing to yield to external pressure or unfilial demands. When Ji Shichen arrives, he decisively intervenes, using his authority to expel the Old Madam and punish the insolent servants. He strikes Ji Shifeng and knocks out Lin Yinger, demonstrating that he will no longer tolerate disrespect toward his wife or the estate's order. The Old Madam is forced to retreat, and Ji Shifeng is returned to confinement.

With the immediate threats neutralized, Su Yunzhu begins to reshape her life. She enjoys the wealth and status she now controls, indulging in shopping and fine clothing provided by a grateful Ji Shichen. The dynamic between Su Yunzhu and Ji Shichen shifts from one of cold distance to mutual respect and budding affection. As the story progresses, Su Yunzhu continues to assert her authority, dealing with the remnants of the Old Madam's influence and managing the internal affairs of the Marquis Estate. She investigates the truth behind the palace banquet incident that separated her from her original fiancé, suspecting manipulation. Her focus remains on securing her future and protecting those who show loyalty to her. The narrative moves away from the tragic romance of the original novel toward a story of female empowerment and family reform.
