In the year 2700, Mount Emei serves as the last refuge for a dwindling population of animals, including a Tibetan macaque, a Himalayan serow, and a red panda cub. The mountain is barren, and resources are nearly depleted. According to an ancient prophecy, a Mountain God will be born at noon to save the ecosystem. The animals witness the birth of a red panda cub, which transforms into a human infant. The macaque, recognizing a film crew nearby, decides the child must be raised by a wealthy human to survive. He places the baby in the RV of Shi Guilin, a twenty-three-year-old rising celebrity known for his beauty and troubled mental state.

Shi Guilin wakes to find the infant in his bed and initially panics. However, the baby, whom he names Nian Nian, immediately bonds with him, calling him "Papa." Despite his own struggles with depression and insomnia, Shi Guilin finds himself inexplicably drawn to the child. He takes Nian Nian to Hengdian, the major film production base, where he completes his final scenes. During this time, he purchases baby supplies and learns to care for the infant, a process that strangely stabilizes his mental health, allowing him to sleep without medication for the first time in a year.

The situation escalates when Nian Nian witnesses a dramatic scene in a video where a character dies, causing him to believe his father has died. In a panic, his assistant Li Yan accidentally video calls Shi Guilin’s parents, Wang Xiulin and Shi Jianfeng. The grandparents are instantly charmed by the adorable child. Wang Xiulin, despite initial shock at the implication of an illegitimate child, quickly accepts Nian Nian, while Shi Jianfeng, usually stern and emotionless, offers a golden lock as a gift. Nian Nian’s presence begins to heal the fractured dynamics of the wealthy Shi family.

Shi Guilin formally decides to adopt Nian Nian, naming him Shi Nianzhu. His parents agree to the adoption but set a condition: if Shi Guilin’s mental health does not improve within a year, guardianship will transfer to them. Shi Guilin moves Nian Nian into the Shi family estate, where he meets his teenage cousin, Shi Linzhuo, who is immediately smitten with the baby’s cuteness, suffering a comedic nosebleed upon seeing him. Nian Nian also interacts with his aunt, Shi Nanxi, a talented but struggling musician who is currently facing a creative block.

As Nian Nian grows, his unique nature becomes apparent. He is not merely a normal child but a spiritual entity with healing properties. His presence alleviates the anxiety and depression of those around him, including Shi Guilin and his aunt. The story follows Nian Nian’s integration into the luxurious but emotionally cold Shi household, where his innocence and affectionate nature begin to mend the relationships between family members. Meanwhile, the ecological crisis on Mount Emei looms in the background, hinting at Nian Nian’s ultimate destiny to restore nature through his divine origins.

The narrative explores the contrast between the decaying natural world and the artificial, high-pressure environment of the entertainment industry and wealthy elite. Shi Guilin, once obsessed with his career, now prioritizes his role as a father. The story sets the stage for Nian Nian’s journey as he grows up, balancing his human upbringing with his supernatural mission to save the world, while the Shi family learns to open their hearts to love and connection through their bond with him.
