“Why do you love me?”

Lynette asked eagerly.

Please, may he reply that he wants her with all his heart. When he thinks of her, he is both happy and sad, that his heart aches and pains every day.

“Because you’re beautiful.”

But the words that flowed from the noble man were cruel. Lynette stammered.

“If I’m no longer beautiful, you won’t love me?”

“I guess so.”

Her eyes widened. If he loves because she is beautiful, if the reason for love is only beauty. If a more beautiful woman appeared, she would be ruthlessly abandoned.

She’s with the baby in her belly.

‘Run, run away.’

Her body with her child will gradually change, and she will be abandoned by him for having his child without his permission. She, a war s*ave, is favored simply because she is beautiful. Maybe he’s trying to get rid of her child himself.

‘…. I’ll run away at night when everyone is asleep.’

A noble prince does not love a lowly s*ave.

So far, the story has been truly engaging, and the translation is outstanding! I appreciate the female lead (FL), but she can be frustrating at times. I'd say her love is blinding her to the fact that he treats her merely as a temporary companion. The male lead (ML) has his own issues, but honestly, he needs to calm down – their conflicts seem to happen almost daily. I'm eagerly looking forward to the escape arc where I hope to see him struggling. And of course, I can't wait for the baby reveal too! Update: Now on chapter 73, I just wish our FL would toughen up and leave him behind.

I truly adore this novel, but I must admit, it feels quite sluggish to me. The progression of the main character (MC) and male lead (ML)'s relationship isn't substantial. Due to their contrasting social standings, the ML tends to communicate minimally with the MC, leaving her hanging and feeling insecure. Moreover, his reserved nature further complicates matters, as the MC struggles to understand his emotions and tries hard to win his affection. Unfortunately, her efforts often go unnoticed or misunderstood, making me wonder if he even appreciates her attempts (at times, I wondered if he disliked her). The revelation of his resentment towards her comes from the fact that she is seen as wasting the effort he put into their connection.

The lack of open dialogue between them gradually escalates into a significant issue, culminating in the MC's decision to part ways with the ML. Chapter 101 marks a turning point, where the story returns to the events depicted in the prologue. I'm eagerly anticipating what unfolds after the MC decides to run away.
