It wasn’t even malicious criticism.

I just gave feedback in the tone I was asked to.

So why the hell did I, the writer who just wanted to help a junior, possess this body of the prospective groom… a villain, who died in the hands of the heroine on their wedding night?

Honestly, I've discovered a truly unique and captivating novel that has recently piqued my interest.

The narrative starts off with an exhilarating and unconventional beginning, more in a thrilling way than anything else. I'm constantly intrigued by the unfolding events in each subsequent chapter. It's not exactly a formal review, but I've thoroughly enjoyed reading from Chapter 1 all the way up to Chapter 47. I wholeheartedly suggest giving it a try; however, if you prefer stories with a more robust protagonist, particularly when it comes to combat skills, this might not be the best fit for your taste.

The top-notch con artist protagonist truly stands out in this series due to his exceptional gaslighting abilities. Watching him manipulate others is pure entertainment, as he's a master manipulator even leaving room for character growth for Lee Kiyoung. His sharp wit and swift decision-making consistently impress. For those who appreciate an MC who creates an elaborate backstory for control, this is the perfect read.

I disagree with the criticism that the main character appears weak. The novel's premise revolves around a vulnerable protagonist navigating a martial arts world through wit and deception. If you prefer a more overpowered MC who also employs manipulation, you may want to explore a different genre, like "Fated to be Loved by Villains."

However, when the protagonist isn't engaging in deceit, his character lacks depth and can become somewhat monotonous. The writing can be verbose at times, but occasionally, the poetic language provides a pleasing break. As an edited machine translation reader, I'm not too bothered by the style. One minor issue I have is with SkyDemonOrder's fan translation, which occasionally leaves untranslated terms, making comprehension difficult.

In terms of world-building, plot progression, and supporting characters, the series is rather average compared to others in its genre. The author could have benefited from trimming unnecessary fillers, such as scenes where the protagonist works as a woodworker or storyteller early on.

Despite these flaws, the main character's antics make the series worth reading, especially for fans of cunning protagonists and engaging manipulation plots.

This dialogue and character interactions in the wuxia genre stand out uniquely. The main character doesn't rely on unfair advantages from his transmigration, nor does he employ meta-knowledge to breeze through the story. He genuinely immerses himself in the world and experiences it authentically. Every aspect, as it unfolds, feels invigorating and spot-on.

This is quite unpredictable. On one hand, the main character (MC) is portrayed as a clever rogue, which should make for an entertaining read. However, in reality, he feels more like a passive figure, simply going along with the plot without exercising any real control. The first arc's female lead annoyed me significantly. She fabricated false evidence against the MC's family for personal reasons, aiming to break off their marriage due to hearsay about the MC's character. Yet, she faced no repercussions despite the tragic consequences that ensued, including the execution of the MC's family and her seizing his wealth (which he had actually given her). Despite realizing her mistake, it was too late for her to rectify the situation since everyone involved was already gone. She ended up crying to the MC, who rightfully decided to leave her. She seemed to be a helpless figure causing chaos and then expecting others to clean up her mess. Fortunately, it appears she fades out after the first arc. It's worth noting that the translation reached Chapter 118 by Sky Demon Order before being taken down due to a DMCA claim, but you may still find it on alternative platforms.
