Su Jinse is the soul of an apocalypse war god reborn into the body of the third young lady of the Yong’an Marquis Residence. The original host was deemed a fool with blocked meridians, ostracized by her family and mocked by servants. While outwardly appearing sluggish and dull, Su Jinse secretly cultivates her wood-element ability, using it to purify medicine and slowly repair her ruined physique. Her existence becomes a liability when her elder brother’s marriage negotiations with the prestigious Zhang family fail for the third time due to rumors of her condition. Her stepmother, Madam Liu, and elder sister, Su Lingwei, conspire to remove her from the capital. Su Lingwei devises a plan to send Su Jinse to the remote and desolate Qingfeng Temple on Wuling Mountain, claiming it is for her recuperation, while secretly intending for her to die alone in the wilderness.

Before her exile, Su Jinse’s brother, Su Mochen, secretly gives her a box containing banknotes and jewelry, expressing guilt for his inability to protect her. During her journey, Su Jinse encounters Prince Jing, Xiao Jue, a disgraced war god stripped of his title and exiled to the same region. Their paths cross briefly on the road, marked by a mutual recognition of opposing elemental auras—death and life. After a carriage accident caused by a wolf pack in the night forest, Xiao Jue rescues Su Jinse and her maid, Huamei, escorting them part of the way before abandoning them at the foot of Wuling Mountain with minimal supplies. Su Jinse, undeterred, climbs the mountain alone to find that Qingfeng Temple is a crumbling ruin. Rather than despair, she sees an opportunity. Using her wood ability, she cultivates a mutated Nine-Layer Tower plant that produces jade melons, solving her food and water problems and rapidly restoring her strength.

Su Jinse brings Huamei, who had been left behind, up the mountain and begins transforming the temple into a thriving agricultural base. She grows vegetables and medicinal herbs with supernatural speed and quality. To sustain herself, she ventures into the Dragon Ridge Mountains, hunting wild boars and collecting spirit plants. Her produce is taken to the nearby town of Qingshi, where it sells for a high price due to its exceptional quality. During a market incident, she uses her vines to repel the son of a wealthy local merchant who attempts to seize her goods, establishing a reputation for mystery and power. Unbeknownst to her, Xiao Jue observes this display from a teahouse and orders an investigation into her activities.

Xiao Jue eventually visits Qingfeng Temple, seeking the source of the miraculous produce that could sustain his impoverished and malnourished guards. Su Jinse proposes a business alliance: she will supply him with all her harvests at a premium price in exchange for his protection and authority over the mountain. Xiao Jue agrees, recognizing her utility and sharp intellect. This partnership marks a turning point for both characters. Su Jinse gains the political backing she needs to secure her new domain, while Xiao Jue gains a reliable source of resources to rebuild his strength. As Su Jinse expands her cultivation and consolidates her power on Wuling Mountain, she prepares to return to the capital not as a discarded fool, but as a formidable force capable of challenging those who wronged her.
